THE RESURRECTION

When the broken come to wholeness,
When the wounded come to healing
When the frightened come to trusting,
The stone has been rolled way!
When the lonely find friendship,
When the hurt find new loving,
When the worried find peace,
The stone has been rolled away!
When we share instead of taking,
When we stroke instead of striking,
When we join around the table,
The stone has been rolled away!

The stone has been rolled away!
In you, Christ Jesus,
Love breaks through hatred,
Hope breaks through despair,
Life breaks through death.
Hallelujah, Christ is risen!
(from Prayers Encircling the Earth, p. 57)
ARTS NIGHT 2016

Arts Night will be a celebration of the visual and performing arts students at Ramona Convent.  This event will coincide with the opening of the annual student art show.   Works completed this year by students in Arts Appreciation, Visual Arts, Ceramics, and AP Studio Art will be on display.  Drawings, paintings, digital art, and photography, as well as ceramic vessels and sculptures, will be among the many kinds of artwork our students have created. Student docents will be on hand to explain their visual ideas as well as the processes they used for creation.

The program for the evening will begin at 6:00 p.m. with three performing arts groups.  The Chamber Singers will begin by serenading us on the historical staircase across from the library. Entertainment will continue as the drama students act short scenes and the ComedySportz team plays improvised games. Docent tours will begin in the library about 6:45 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.

Food Trucks will be available near the softball field before and during the event.   Join us  on April 7th to celebrate our students and the Arts.
INTERACT CLUB ARC WALK

Ramona's Interact Club is always busy with events to help the less fortunate in our community.  On Saturday, March 12, (after a sleep deprived night at the junior retreat) a group of them participated in the 20th annual ARC Walk.  This nonprofit organization is committed to helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  Thank you to Carolina Barbosa, Interact President, for her leadership in organizing the planning for this activity and to all of the girls who participated.

TIME TO POP SOME TAGS!

The Ramona Thrift Shop is happening   April 19th , 20th, and 21st.  Easter Break is a great time to go through your closets and get rid of anything you no longer want or need.  We will take clothes, shoes, accessories, stuffed animals, books, CDs, nail polish, etc.  You may donate up to five items to get five free items at the thrift shop.  You can purchase additional items for 1 dollar each.  All leftover items will go to Proyecto Pastoral's women's shelter.
SNJM NETWORK OF SCHOOLS
Last week we were delighted to host the Administrators of our SNJM schools from Tampa, FL, Albany, NY, Seattle, WA, Portland OR, Oakland, CA, and Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, for our annual meeting.  Besides being delighted with our California weather, our guests enjoyed meeting with Ramona's faculty and staff at our St. Patrick's Day luncheon in the pavilion, speaking with our Ambassadors, touring the campus and visiting the classes, and enjoying a performance by Ramona's Comedy Sportz Team.  With a full agenda and some social time, quite a bit was packed into their short visit.
