Marissa Ramos-Santana is a winner of the third annual Georgia RISE Award which honors individuals who provide exemplary service in public education.

Ramos-Santana selected as Georgia RISE Award winner

Governor Brian P. Kemp and State School Superintendent Richard Woods today announced the winners of the third annual Georgia Recognizing Inspirational School Employees (RISE) Award, which honors those who provide exemplary service in public education. Marissa Ramos-Santana, a Bilingual Parent Liaison for Carrollton City Schools, and Sergeant Jacob Wise, a School Resource Officer for Lumpkin County Schools, are this year's winners. They have also been submitted as Georgia’s nominees for the national RISE Award, in which the governor of each state is invited to nominate up to two classified school employees.

Carrollton High School performing arts students traveled to New York City at the end of May as an enrichment experience partially funded by the Carrollton City Schools Education Foundation. The group is pictured here on stage at Radio City Music Hall. For most of the students, it was their first trip to the Big Apple.

Foundation board approves field trip experiences

The Carrollton City Schools Education Foundation awarded seven grants specifically for field trip experiences for this school year, with awards reflecting a combined total of almost $8,000.

CJHS band performs at Reinhardt University

The CJHS Wind Ensemble had a stellar performance at Reinhardt University on Oct 21. They were the selected band to serve as the guest performer at Reinhardt University’s annual Middle School Honor Band.

Thumbs up for fun labs in sixth-grade science!

This week, students at Carrollton Upper Elementary worked on a Solar System group lab project called, "How Far is Far?" Students are in the process of plotting the location of the planets in relation to the sun, according to a scale provided. Later, they will draw and color the planets using text evidence from a passage.

Boosterthon Fun Run for CES Trojans

Carrollton Elementary School students raised more than $30,000 in their Boosterthon fundraiser which will help with various classroom upgrades. Students celebrated exceeding their goal last week with a Boosterthon Fun Run!
