Access to Mt. St. Helens from Mt. Rainier via the White Pass Scenic Byway in Randle is available in July. Forest Service Road 99 will open as soon as the snow melts according to the US Forest Service.

It's a phenomenon you must see to believe! Mt. Rainier's wildflower displays are often heralded as the world's best.

Visit Rainier's wildflower guide and identification page will help you find great viewing opportunities  at the mountain and help you familiarize yourself with what you'll see.  Looking to view from the trail?  You can read about the Top 10 Wildflower Hikes.  Next, it's time to head up to Mt. Rainier and experience it all for yourself! 

Take wildflower photos while you're there, and enter your best images in our wildflower contest for a chance to win! Our first place winner will receive a $200 RainierBucks gift certificate and the second place winner will receive a $50 RainierBucks gift certificate. The first 250 entries will receive a 2013 Wildflower Fan decal and packet of wildflower seeds. Contest runs from July 1 - September 15.

Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad Announces New Logging Heritage Museum

Exciting things are happening in Mineral! In addition to the world class view of Mt. Rainier and world-class fishing is the opening of the new Logging Heritage Museum! At the museum, visitors will have the opportunity to view Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad's collection of historic logging locomotives, rail cars, equipment and camp buildings. Read more about the historic train in Elbe and the ride through the scenic foothills of Mt. Rainier to Mineral. Train fare includes discounted entrance fee to the museum. Check their website for departure times each weekend throughout the summer.

Road to Paradise
Hit the road and see the sights in and around Mt. Rainier.  Choose from four loops. Click each tour for all the details including things to see, length and time.

All of these road trips can be completed in a day, or stay overnight for a more leisurely trip.

Insider Tip: To beat the crowds, schedule your day to arrive at Paradise or Sunrise before noon or after 3pm.
