March 2026

Hello from Ramsey Water!

March brings longer days, the first signs of spring, and plenty of opportunities to celebrate our community and the resources we rely on every day. As the seasons shift, our team remains focused on providing the same safe, reliable water service you count on year-round. This month’s newsletter highlights upcoming events, important water awareness dates, and a few seasonal reminders to help you welcome spring safely and prepared.

Spring Forward: Daylight Saving Time Begins

Don’t forget to set your clocks ahead! Daylight Saving Time starts on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at 2:00 a.m., moving clocks forward one hour and giving us more daylight in the evenings.

This is also a great time to:

  • Check and replace smoke detector batteries
  • Exercise home plumbing shutoff valves
  • Reset timers on appliances or irrigation systems

A few simple checks now can help keep everything running smoothly as spring arrives.

Water Rate Change Went into Effect in February

Ramsey Water is implementing a rate increase to help cover rising costs for materials, maintenance, and daily operations.

As of February, customer bills will reflect the new rate increase. For the average household using 4,000 gallons of water per month, this means an increase of about $5.74.

These adjustments allow us to continue providing safe, reliable water service and responsibly maintain our infrastructure for the long term. We appreciate your understanding and continued support.

Corydon Transmission Main Project Update

Ramsey Water continues to make progress on easement coordination and funding for a new 30-inch transmission main connecting our Water Treatment Plant in Leavenworth to the Pitman Tank in Corydon. The existing line has been in service for nearly 60 years, and this replacement will strengthen our system’s reliability and capacity for the future.

The new water main will use a combination of durable High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipe for river crossings and ductile iron pipe for added strength and longevity. This upgraded line will help ensure safe, dependable water service for our customers well into the future.

As the Ground Thaws, Remember to Call 8-1-1

With warmer weather on the way, outdoor projects are starting up. Before digging for a mailbox, fence, garden, or landscaping project, remember that Indiana law requires calling 8-1-1 at least two full working days before you dig.

This free service marks underground utility lines to help prevent damage, service interruptions, and injuries. It’s quick, easy, and required by law.
