How to Kill Weeds Without Hurting Your Garden
From HGTV.com
Those weeds in your garden have to go. They’re stealing water and nutrients from your desirable plants, and many will spread until they overrun everything from the rhubarb to the roses.
You can chop them up or yank them out, but that doesn’t always eradicate them. Some drop seeds that germinate in just a few days—or years down the road. Weeds with deep roots or big root systems can break apart and re-sprout from stems, runners or small pieces that remain in the ground.
Fortunately, you don't have to go after weeds with a burn-everything-to-the-ground mentality. We've got tips to help you banish them while protecting your flowers and veggies.
What that means for you and the snake.

As you tend to your yard or garden to prepare it for a summer bloom, be aware that you may not be alone. After heavy rains, snakes are forced out of their once-dry havens and seek out prey or a mate.

Tips If you encounter a snake:
• If you see a snake in your yard or garden, just stay away from it. It is likely that the snake will flee when it sees you.
• Make a loud noise to drive a snake from your path. Snakes do not have ears, but they are very sensitive to vibrations.
• Stay away from rattlesnakes
• Do not try to capture the snake.

FAQs about Watering Rules
& Tips for Your Lawn

When we are not in drought restrictions (stages 1 through 4), under Year-Round rules you are allowed to water your landscape with a sprinkler before 11 a.m. and after 7 p.m. every day. Watering by hand-held hose or with a 5-gallon bucket is allowed any time. However, water waste is prohibited at all times.
