Grant Applications Now Being Accepted

The city is now accepting Community Enhancement & Investment Fund grant applications. The city will review and consider awarding grants to individuals, organizations, businesses, and community partners who are interested in enhancing the Rancho Cordova community through arts, culture, history, entertainment, sports, education, and other projects.

Applications are available to submit now through Friday, March 18, 2022.

Please note these special instructions if you are proposing a project at a public K-12 school, or at a park or park facility: You must ask for the endorsement of the applicable school superintendent(s) or park representative. A copy of your application and a Supplemental Endorsement Form must be submitted to the appropriate school or park district(s) by March 4, 2022.

Funding

The Community Enhancement & Investment Fund is funded by Measures H and R, ½ cent local sales tax measures approved by Rancho Cordova voters respectively in November 2014 and 2020. The program is anticipated to generate approximately $20 million annually, with the following allocated during Fiscal Year 2021/2022:

  • $2-2.5 million for community projects
  • $4 million for COVID-19 recovery opportunities
  • $13-13.5 million for infrastructure, public safety, community/economic development, legacy projects, affordable housing/homelessness, and other public programs

Measure R, in effect as of April 2021, will provide augmented funding to improve city streets, make our neighborhoods even safer, and fund programs to attract new businesses and create jobs, including more retail, restaurants and recreation opportunities. The city added "Investment" to the name of the fund in 2021 to reflect the additional community priorities supported.
