Prepare Your Home for El Niño!

El Niño can bring heavy rain, strong winds, and localized flooding. Preparing now can help protect your home, property, and family while reducing storm damage.

Before the next storm:

  • Clean leaves and debris from rain gutters and downspouts, and make sure water drains away from your foundation.
  • Inspect your roof for damage and signs of leaks. Complete needed repairs early.
  • Clear yard drains, curbs, and drainage channels of debris, but never remove storm-drain covers.
  • Trim weak or overhanging branches and secure outdoor furniture, umbrellas, decorations, and other loose items.
  • If your property is prone to flooding, obtain sand and sandbags early. Fill and store them in a dry, accessible location.
  • Keep emergency supplies on hand and sign up for weather alerts.

Find preparedness tips, sandbag information, and trusted weather resources at CityofRC.us/ElNino. Preparing today can help keep Rancho Cucamonga storm ready.
