9/11 REMEMBRANCE CEREMONY

A TRIBUTE TO COURAGE AND RESILIENCE

Join the Rancho Cucamonga Fire District and Rancho Cucamonga Police Department as we commemorate the anniversary of September 11, 2001, at the upcoming 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony on Wednesday, September 11, beginning at 8:40 a.m. The ceremony will be held at Central Park's Freedom Courtyard (11200 Base Line Road).

The 9/11 terror attacks took the lives of 2,977 men, women, and children in New York, NY, Arlington, VA. and near Shanksville, PA. As a way to continue to honor their lives, the City of Rancho Cucamonga is building a 9/11 Memorial Park that will incorporate remnants from all three crash sites.

Join us at the ceremony for a special update on the 9/11 Memorial Park.

MEASURE Q:

THE RANCHO CUCAMONGA TRANSIENT OCCUPANCY TAX MEASURE

The City of Rancho Cucamonga strives to maintain safety, security, and a high quality of life for all who live, work, and visit here.

One of the fiscal means to maintain this quality and character is the City of Rancho Cucamonga’s Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) also known as a "bed tax" or "hotel visitor tax" which is paid by hotel, motel, and short-term rental guests staying in Rancho Cucamonga. The TOT provides a reliable source of funding for some City services, doing so without any tax burden on local residents, unless a resident stays at a hotel, motel or short-term rental in Rancho Cucamonga.

To help the City plan for the future, on May 15, 2024, after conducting public outreach and receiving feedback from the community, including conducting a public opinion poll, the Rancho Cucamonga City Council unanimously voted to place Measure Q, a Transient Occupancy Tax measure on the November 5, 2024, ballot.

The TOT is not paid by any local hotel, motel or short-term rental operator, but solely by guests staying within Rancho Cucamonga. If approved by voters, the $1 million generated by Measure Q each year could provide funding to help the City plan for long-term budgeting of key City functions, including:1

  • Supporting Public Safety
  • Addressing Homelessness
  • Improving Infrastructure
  • Maintaining and Improving Parks and Open Space
  • Supporting City Programs for Seniors and Youth

SB EXPRESS LANES ON I-10 NOW OPEN

The SB Express Lanes on I-10, spanning from the Los Angeles/San Bernardino County Line to I-15 in San Bernardino County, are now open! The SB Express Lanes include two tolled lanes in each direction in the median of the freeway, and anyone can choose to use them for a fee.

These new lanes reduce traffic congestion, improve traffic flow and provide time savings for all who travel on I-10. Drivers are able to enter and exit the SB Express Lanes on I-10 from multiple points, providing sufficient opportunity to reach various interchanges and destinations along the corridor.

There are several ways to pay for trips on the SB Express Lanes on I-10. The lowest toll rates are available with a prepaid FasTrak ® account, or payments can be made within five (5) days online or in person.

To better serve commuters within San Bernardino County, there is an SB Express Lane Customer Service Walk-In Center located inside City Hall, (10500 Civic Center Drive), open Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

For project information, or to learn more about how to pay, visit SBExpressLanes.com, or call 1-909-333-4791 for questions.
