News Updates & Quick Links

Happy New Year! We hope we are serving you well with this website. It has certainly come a long way since we started to compile all-inclusive worldwide rankings on February 2, 2014. Hundreds of thousands of performances inserted, dozens of programs written and thousands of mistakes later, we are on a great path. Sure, we still have a ton of things to get done but our progress in December demonstrates we have come a long way and are going to continue to get better every month (see By the Numbers below).

You can see we've started to redesign the site. Things will be shifted around over the next several weeks until we finish. The site will be easier to navigate when we are done and it will be easier to add the features to the site that you've requested.

Ranked Athlete Spotlight

Like so many of us, Andrew Cassin wasn't aware of Masters Athletics and gave up the sport he loves.  He started training after learning about the Australian Masters Athletics Championships 16 years later and set a goal of winning the long jump there.  He far exceeded his goal by winning the long and triple jumps plus medaled in the 60, 100 and high jump - he was hooked!  Many national championships, including the "jumps treble" in April, have followed but Andrew thinks his greatest athletics achievements are still ahead of him.  He is probably right considering he has already set PRs in long jump, 100 and 200 within the past few weeks.  Andrew tried to get fit many times through the years but always lost focus.  Athletics has given Andrew more purpose and has motivated him to train hard and to be healthier. Hope you keep improving Andrew - you can win the Most Improved Rankings Award!
Year Review / Looking Forward

This year was incredibly busy and exciting. We have accomplished so much and still have a lot to do. 2016 will be more exciting for the rankings as we transition and grow further. Here are some of what will be happening in 2016:

  • Improved site appearance & navigation.
  • Comprehensive lists (combining indoor & outdoor rankings).
  • 400 meter non-FAT time adjustment
  • Only legal wind performances in official rankings lists
  • Rankings Advisory Board recommended improvements
2015 highlights:
  • WMA endorses site as official world rankings
  • Approved as a 501(c)(3) public charity
  • Staff tripled (as of a week ago)
  • Added upcoming meets section
  • Over 220,000 performances inserted
  • Many program improvements which improve quality and speed of inserting results and making corrections.

We are looking forward to meeting you and hearing what you want from this site. Those of you who cannot make it to Providence or Winston-Salem can call, email, post on FaceBook...anytime - we'd love to hear from you too. With your help, advice, suggestions and requests, we will further improve this site to serve Masters Athletes even more. I can't wait to see how far we've progressed this by this time next year.

Sincerely,
