Dear Rapido Customer,

Jason here with some important news.

In our recent Christmas newsletter, we announced a limited-edition run of 500 pieces of Amtrak's first E8 locomotive, #4316. We expected 500 pieces to last us until at least February. In fact, we were originally only going to make 300.

The 500 models sold out within 48 hours, before most of our retailers had even seen the email. This has resulted in a lot of our long-time customers being deeply disappointed.

We were not planning to make any more models of 4316, but this week we were contacted by Amtrak. Many Amtrak employees and retirees were unable to reserve a model of 4316 before the models were sold out.

Amtrak's 50th anniversary is a once-in-a-lifetime event. Due to the historic significance of 4316 as the first painted Amtrak locomotive and the fact that the model sold out within 48 hours, Amtrak has requested that we make more models of 4316 available to the public.
The order desk for 4316 is now open until end of day on January 15th, 2021. Please order from your hobby shop or click here to order direct. You can click on the above image to download the revised catalog.

If you placed an order for 4316 on the basis of our announcement that we were only making 500 pieces, we apologize sincerely for disappointing you. You can cancel your order with no penalty or hard feelings.

After January 15th the order desk will be closed. The models will still be limited to the orders we receive by that date - no extras will be made - and they will still come in a wood presentation box and will be numbered and signed by Amtrak's Matt Donnelly and by me.

Thanks for your understanding, and we look forward to celebrating Amtrak's 50th together!

Best regards,

Jason
