Jason is in the United Kingdom and it isn't pretty...

Rapido UK News Vol. 9

Greetings from Darlington!

I am currently on a Magical Mystery Tour of the UK. As usual, weird stuff is happening.
Paddington Daleks
Such a typically British scene.
I usually traipse around the UK in the lead-up to the Warley show, but as Warley began while I was on a plane back from China that wasn't going to happen.

So here I am, traipsing around the UK in January instead. Normal people go to the UK in May, June - that sort of thing. I come in the dead of winter when everything is shut.
New Street Station
In my happy place.

Spare any change, sir?
In the one day I've been here, I've been to London, Reading, Birmingham, Peterborough and Darlington. I'm writing a blog about my adventures on RMWeb. Please click here to read it and join the discussion.

Today I'll be at Locomotion in Shildon and then I am heading to Leeds, Birmingham, Crewe, Sheffield and more. I'm even going to London for more than 20 minutes, for the first time in almost a decade!

I look forward to telling you all about it. And yes, there are new models in the works and that is a large part of why I am here.

Other Updates

We meant to get in touch with you after Warley but honestly we've been so busy. We've just recently delivered our HO scale Budd RDC, which is the most successful project we've ever done, and we launched a gorgeous model of a North American New Look Bus. (If you're a British bus fan like I am, have a look at our bus. It surpasses every 1:76 bus model ever made in terms of detail.) Bill is working on a major UK newsletter update so you should expect something in your inbox in the next couple of weeks.

As a taste of things to come, here is a rendering of our new N gauge Class 92 for Revolution Trains. This model is just about ready to start tooling.

We have a new tooling workshop that is really fantastic. One of the reasons that some of our projects have been delayed lately is that our tooling workshops required a lot of revisions to get the moulds to be 100% finished.

Our new workshop gets it right on the first go. We're doing a dome car for a North American client, and the tooling was finished in the space of three months. Not bad, eh?
Richard Pearson Locomotion
Richard Pearson is properly peeved.
I've got to dash - Richard from Locomotion has just pulled up and he's getting really pissed off that I am still sitting here working on my computer. I was planning on hiring a car and setting its clutch on fire but the folks in Shildon have been kind enough to do the driving.

We'll be in touch in the very near future. In the meantime, you can keep in contact via our Facebook page or in that RMWeb thread.

All the best,

Jason Shron
