2020 Mission Trip
El Salvador (UMVIM) Mission Trip
June 21-27, 2020
We are excited to reconnect with our International Methodist Mission Partner—The Evangelical Methodist Church in El Salvador. In 2020, we’ll send a District team to continue our relationship-building, food distribution and VBS.
Applications are available from the District Office, the District website, or by contacting Rev. Robin BeMiller ( [email protected]), Team Leader.
Trip Cost: Expected to be in the $850-$950 range, including airfare. A limited number of $300 scholarships are available to persons under 30 years of age.
Application and Deposit Deadline: February 29
th, 2020 - $250 deposit is due with your application. Make checks payable to “Rappahannock River District UMC”, memo: El Salvador Trip and mail to:

Julia Ann Tubbs
in your prayers for her passing on December 8, 2019. Julia served as an active member of the Fredericksburg UMC church for 47 years. She and her husband, Larry, have been integral in the life of the district and have blessed many with their ministries and friendships through the years. Larry served as the District Lay Leader for the Ashland District and the Fredericksburg District.
The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm on Friday, December 13 at Covenant Funeral Service in Fredericksburg. A celebration of life will be on Saturday, December 14 at 11 am at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church.
A reception will follow.

Please keep the family of
Rev. James Robert "Bob" Regan, Jr
. in your prayers for his passing on December 9, 2019. Bob served as lead pastor of Fredericksburg UMC from 1983 - 1994. He and his wife, Jeanette, were involved in many ministries throughout the years.
A service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 12 at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends an hour prior at the church and a reception will follow after the service.

S/PPR Committee Training will be offered on two regions of the district in January:
January 11 at Hillcrest UMC in Fredericksburg
January 18 at Tappahannock Memorial in Tappahannock
The training will be from 10:00am - 12:00pm.
This class is great for new committee members and anyone who would like a refresher course or who has questions.
Please RSVP so we have adequate handouts and can contact you in case of inclement weather.

Christmas Blessings Food Packing and Delivery
|
Every year at Christmas the Heartwood Center provides “fill-in-the-gap” food for children who rely on the breakfast and lunches provided at school. During the long break many children are at risk of inadequate food supplies. This year, that number has increased significantly. The Heartwood Center will be holding food packings and delivering food to the schools.
Fauquier County 96 children. December 16

Stafford County 366 children. December 17
th 9am at St. Matthias 426 Deacon Road, Fredericksburg,
Caroline County 153 children. Rev. Chris Watson, Rev. Mark Lawrence, Rev. Carol Seeley and Rev. Lou Woolner are coordinating this event.

Job Opening: DAHLGREN DIRECTOR OF MUSIC
Part time salaried position: Director of Music, responsible for overall leadership of the music program at Dahlgren United Methodist Church, to include traditional, contemporary, and children’s music. Candidate should be a Christian with a strong commitment to Jesus Christ, have a demonstrated capability or experience in directing a music program, be able to maintain a positive, professional atmosphere in all aspects of the music program, be able to work well with others, exhibit good communication skills, and have an ability to read music, as well as an understanding of the function of music within the overall worship program and life of the congregation.
