DS Farewell, Welcome, and Installation Service
On Sunday, June 30, 2019,  the Rappahannock River District will be celebrating the transition of our District Superintendents. We invite you and your church to join us in this  Farewell, Welcome, and Installation Service  at Wright's Chapel UMC in Ladysmith at 3:00 pm.

Many of you have asked about a departing gift for Ted.  We are asking churches and members who would like to recognize and honor Ted's leadership for the past eight years to make a donation to our El Salvador partnership. This mission is close to Ted's heart and will be a great send off. Checks may be mailed to the district office at PO BOX 100, Ladysmith, VA 22501 (made out to the district) with "In honor of Ted Smith" written in the memo line.

Blessings,

Terry & Dave

Share Your Voice – Participate in the Conference Communications Survey

The mission of the Conference Communications Office is to provide you with the Virginia Conference information you need, including conference news and events, updates from the Bishop, information on training opportunities, and local ministry stories. Our goal is to provide you with the information you want to see through the communications channels that are most useful to you. We have created a short communications survey to get your feedback so we can learn how to serve you better. Please visit  www.VAUMC.org/survey  to take the survey, and please share this link with others in your congregation. The survey will remain open until July 31, 2019.

Thank you for your help!

Thank you so much to the members of the Rappahannock River District Builder's Club for their contributions to the recent call. This call was for Zion UMC's Food Pantry Mission Facility involving new footings, foundation, wrap around deck, a/c unit, electrical and installation of a trailer.
57 Members from around the district contributed a total of $3,710 for the ministry.

“What does the Lord require from you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” – Micah 6:8

The District Mission Team to El Salvador is diligently preparing for our upcoming mission trip. We are preparing to lead VBS for approximately 50 children to include skits with puppets, games, crafts, and music. Duolingo is our friend as we practice learning Bible verses and popular children’s songs in Spanish.

You might be asking, “How can we support this mission? ” First, we ask you to pray for us as we prepare for this mission. Pray for our time of preparation as well as the people we will be in ministry with in El Salvador. Second, we are thankful for the financial support of our District Churches through the Mission Committee and Connectional Ministries as they have generously provided financial support for this trip. Thirdly, if you would like to provide financial support for supplies such as craft items for this trip, we encourage you to send a financial donation to the district office. Just make a check payable to the Rappahannock River District and mark "El Salvador Mission Trip" in the memo line. Mail to PO BOX 100, Ladysmith, VA 22501.

Blessings
