🌎 Earth Day 2025 at LLCA 🌱

Lake Lure Classical Academy celebrated Earth Day 2025 with hands-on, minds-on learning that brought nature, science, and sustainability to life! Students engaged in outdoor investigations and even met some fascinating animal visitors—including a tortoise and a snake!

LLCA students made the most of this Earth Day. Let’s carry this energy into every day as we grow a greener future together! 🌿🌍

Lake Lure Town Council Meeting

Stellar representatives from our middle and high school presented to the Lake Lure Town Council at this month’s council meeting this past Tuesday evening. These students provided Mayor Carol Pritchett and members of the Council with an overview of LLCA’s academics, athletics, and extracurricular activities. Thanks to Mr. Edwards for organizing the event. 

Career Speakers

Fourth and fifth grade students were fortunate enough to have eight fantastic community members come and speak about their education, careers, skills, and life experiences that led to success and changes. Students heard about various careers ranging from Military Chaplain, IT Specialist, Golf Course Management, Bookkeeping, Leadership Development Coach, Realtor, and more! We are so thankful for their time and expertise! Shoutout to Laura and Charles Yopp, Adam Bowles, Fran Anderson, Janelle and Jeff DeWolf, Kevin, and Lyn Weaver.

Parents and Guardians of Student Bus Riders

I would like to take a moment to address a concern that has been raised by our bus drivers. Recently, there have been several instances where students have been picked up by individuals in vehicles unfamiliar to the drivers or not listed as authorized pick-up persons. To ensure the safety of all our students, we kindly ask that families using our transportation services notify the school of any changes to their child's daily transportation plans. This includes any plans for your child to ride an alternative bus route or if someone not on the authorized pick-up list will be picking up your child.

Timely communication of these changes will help keep our drivers informed and ensure the safety and security of your children.

We appreciate your attention to this matter and encourage you to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Lake Lare LEO Club

On St Patrick's Day, the Lake Lare LEO Club visited our adopted McCune Center Resident, Mr Chuck Varner, to celebrate his favorite Holiday. The McCune Center in Black Mountain, NC is an assisted living center owned by the Lions Clubs of Western North Carolina. The Club members also shared their “Irish Blessings” with Mr Varner and enjoyed lunch from Pizza Hut after the visit.
