We're Thankful to CityServe and 180 Disaster Relief!

We are very thankful to CityServe and 180 Disaster Relief for delivering a Holiday Shop to Lake Lure Classical Academy. We know that many families sustained economic difficulties because of Hurricane Helene, and we hope that this service helped in even a small way.

Farewell, Ms. Healy and Mr. Maxeiner!

Ms. Healy and Mr. Maxeiner have decided to start a new chapter in their lives, and they will not be returning after Christmas break. They have done incredible work at Lake Lure Classical Academy, and we are thankful for the time that we had them. We wish them a fond farewell and all the best for a happy and productive future!

Please note that we are working diligently to fill their positions, and we expect to have news about their replacements in the next Raptor newsletter.

Stronger Than the Storm

Help us reach our goal of raising $5,000 to help with the relief efforts in Lake Lure and Chimney Rock by ordering one of our “Stronger Than the Storm” shirts. We are halfway there!! We now have Grey AND Pink available! We have youth-adult sizes available. The price is $25 each and the quality is wonderful.

Please email myself ewarner@llcharter.org, or the brainchild of this operation, Coach Parke at eparke@llcharter.org to place your order for yourself, friends and/or family. To pay, please send cash to the office, to myself, or Coach Parke. Shirts can then be sent home with students or left in the office for pickup. Thank you for your support!

It’s time to order yearbooks! Jostens offers an interest-free payment option. Order online today at https://www.jostens.com/yearbooks/students-and-parents/about-yearbooks

Happy Holidays!

I hope each and every one of you have a happy and healthy holiday season.

We are seeing an increase in upper respiratory viruses and infections as well as mycoplasma pneumonia. There are also the usual culprits such as Flu, strep, and pink eye lurking around. It is important that we all stay vigilant in our handwashing/sanitizing in order to help prevent the spread of these germs. “Snow one”  wants to be sick over the holidays!

PCAC Meeting

Our next meeting will be held on December 16, 2024 in Mrs. Kristin’s Room (A-13). Join us in-person (or online) for a special message from our AIG coordinator Mrs. Granville.

Other Shelton Challenge Sites

The Shelton Leadership Center partners with communities across North Carolina and beyond to provide this leadership experience to pre-college students. Students who participate at one of these sites receive the same opportunities and experiences they would at the Red Hat Shelton Challenge, though customized for their particular needs and spaces. Partners are trained by Shelton Leadership Center and provided with all the resources to deliver the program at their site. If you are interested in attending a Shelton Challenge at one of our other sites, please visit their websites below:
