Lighting Up Lake Lure

This year's Lighting Up Lake Lure event may have looked a little different, but it carried an even deeper sense of significance. Our students from Lake Lure Classical Academy had the honor of being part of a memorable kickoff to the holiday season, adding a touch of joy to the festivities. The community, united and resilient, came together to showcase their unwavering holiday spirit, proving once again the strength and togetherness that make Lake Lure such a special place to call home.

Battle Pups Bring Comfort and Support to LLCA Students

We are thrilled to share that more than 500 Battle Pups were generously donated to our students in grades K-12! These adorable and comforting stuffed animals were created by a compassionate family who faced their own significant life challenges. Their goal was to provide comfort, courage, and a sense of hope to others experiencing difficult times.

At Lake Lure Classical Academy, our community has faced its own struggles in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. The storm left an undeniable impact on our school and the surrounding areas of Western North Carolina. In this challenging season, the arrival of the Battle Pups has been a heartwarming reminder of the kindness and care that unites us as a community.

We are deeply grateful for this gift, as the Battle Pups offer more than just a cuddle. They represent resilience, love, and the support that helps us navigate tough times together. Thank you to the creators and everyone involved in bringing these comforting companions to our students!

From Mr. Fair, Dean of Students

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we approach the winter months, we’d like to take a moment to gently remind everyone about our school’s dress code policies. Adhering to the dress code helps us maintain a respectful and focused learning environment for all students.

During the winter, students are welcome to wear non-uniform jackets on the bus and while outside before entering the building. Once inside the school, we ask that they store their non-uniform jackets in their lockers. To help your child prepare for the colder weather, we encourage you to review the dress code together and consider purchasing warm clothing options from one of our approved vendors.

We kindly ask for your support in helping students follow the dress code. If any concerns arise, we will reach out to parents to discuss how we can work together to ensure students have the appropriate attire.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support in helping us create a positive and focused learning atmosphere for all students.

From Nurse Redmon

  • The holidays are coming, and large gatherings, travel, and more time indoors can mean more viruses spreading. Fortunately, we have tools to help us stay healthy so we can enjoy the time we spend with our families, friends, and neighbors.
  • There’s still time to benefit from getting your recommended immunizations to reduce your risk of illness, especially severe illness and hospitalization.
  • For people who do get sick with flu and COVID-19, antiviral medications for each of these illnesses are recommended for people who are at higher risk of severe illness
  • You can also protect yourself and others with everyday prevention actions, like covering coughs and sneezes, improving ventilation, staying home and away from others when you are sick (including people you live with), and washing hands often.

Thank you to the families who sent in cough drops! We have used MANY!

PCAC Meeting

Our next meeting will be held on December 16, 2024 in Mrs. Kristin’s Room (A-13). Join us in-person (or online) for a special message from our AIG coordinator Mrs. Granville.
