It is scheduling time in the high school for the 2025-2026 academic year, and we would like to invite parents to attend one of two sessions to discuss their child's schedule for next academic year. We will discuss graduation requirements, our planned electives for the 25-26 academic year, and the community college opportunities that our high school students have. We will also try to answer any questions that you may have. Representatives from Isothermal will be here on the evening of March 13th to discuss how your child can earn college credits during high school. Parents are welcome to bring their children, but please note that your students will be meeting with Mrs. Powell for scheduling meetings, and representatives from I.C.C. will also be on campus to meet with students individually during the scheduling period.

Students ate pizza while Mr. Daniels shared his job duties as a well site geologist for Chevron. To additionally help students understand the role of a well site geologist, Mrs. Daniels read the book My Daddy Works on a Drill Ship to the students, supplementing the information shared by Mr. Daniels.

I LOVE playing games and learning through play always makes it more fun. Here are games for  students to practice skills the PETS (Primary Education Thinking Skills) program focuses on as well. LLCA uses this ‘systemized enrichment and diagnostic skills program…to help in the identification of academically talented students as well as teaching all students higher-level thinking skills.) (K-PETS p.5)  Have fun!

Divergent Thinking: (generating many possible ideas/solutions) Apples to Apples, Scrabble, and Scattegories

Convergent Thinking: (logic & deduction develops math skills & forward-thinking strategies) Quirkle, Mastermind, and SET

Visual/Spatial Thinking: (mentally "seeing" & manipulating in one's mind) Blokus & Camelot Jr.
