NC Law Regarding Cell Phone & Wireless Communication Devices for All Public Schools

North Carolina has implemented a statewide cell phone ban in public schools, prohibiting students from using wireless devices during instructional time. The law, signed by Governor Josh Stein on July 1, 2025, requires school districts to adopt policies that ban cellphone use. The legislation was passed with bipartisan support and aims to reduce classroom distractions and improve student focus and mental health.

LLCA's Board of Directors adopted a Cell Phone Policy at the June 19th board meeting. The policy will be linked on our school website: Student Cell Phone & Person Technology Use.

From Nurse Redmon:

If you have a Kindergarten, 7th grader, or 12th grader, your student will need vaccination updates for this coming school year! Take the time this summer to get these immunizations updated! If your child has a chronic health condition or takes medication, please take the time this summer to get their medication form or health history form updated! These forms need to be renewed each school year!
