Upcoming Early Release

& Parent Conference Day

Friday, September 12 will be a noon release day. There will be no school for students on Monday, September 15 as this day is reserved for parent conferences. Parent conferences are a valuable opportunity to partner with your child’s teacher, celebrate progress, and discuss goals for the year. If you have not yet been contacted for a conference, please reach out directly to your student’s teacher to schedule a time.

High School Students & Parents - Please Read

We’re sure you've heard by now that the state of NC has changed from Powerschool to a new program called Infinite Campus. We are all learning this program together, but here are some resources that may help you navigate this transition. https://kb.infinitecampus.com/help/parents-and-students

Save the Date! On Thursday, September 25, we plan to take 11th-12th graders to ICC for a CACRAO Regional College Fair. CACRAO partners with over 100 2-year and 4-year colleges and universities from North Carolina, South Carolina, and nationwide to provide college and career opportunities for your next steps after high school. More details to follow soon!

We will offer the PSAT in October for interested 10th-11th grade students. The cost will be $18 per student. We will send home a letter with more details and ordering information next week. https://satsuite.collegeboard.org/sat-suite-benefits-students-parents/why-take-psat

Remember, please check THIS DOCUMENT frequently for information about SAT and ACT testing, college planning events, college application and financial aid information, enrichment program opportunities, and more! The document is always linked in Mrs. Powell’s email signature.

Reminder: 8th–12th grade students attending the ICC Shakespeare trip must return signed permission slips to their homeroom teacher by Tuesday, September 9.

Raptor 5K Race

The sign-up for our Raptor 5k Race on October 18th is live! Please spread the word far and wide and encourage your runner friends to sign up. Proceeds go towards LLCA athletics and recreation equipment. https://runsignup.com/Race/NC/LakeLure/Raptor5K

Greetings Raptor Families,

This is a friendly reminder that all secondary students are expected to have a lock for their assigned locker and to use it daily to secure their belongings. While this may seem like an obvious step, we’ve noticed that many students are either not using locks or are leaving them unlocked.

Our priority is to ensure that students’ personal items remain safe. To help prevent the loss or theft of belongings, students should consistently lock their lockers. Those enrolled in PE should also have a separate lock for securing items and apparel during class.

Thank you for reminding your students of the importance of using their locks—we appreciate your partnership in helping us keep their belongings safe.

Mr. Fair
