Piper Sky is an adventurous young lady who attracts lots of attention because of her awesome pink popsicle shoes. Her adventures will wow young audiences everywhere as they learn lessons of kindness, sharing and more from Piper Sky and friends. Ali, a mom of two young daughters, was motivated to develop the Piper Sky book series after noticing a limited number of diverse characters in today's literature for children.

"I wanted my daughters and other children with diverse backgrounds to feel celebrated and to have fictional characters who look like them and that they can relate to," said Ali. "Piper embodies the characteristics I am teaching my daughters and my goal is for her to inspire children to be confident and to maintain strong values."

The highlight of The Piper Sky Community Day will be the youth talent competition hosted by comedian and radio personality GRIFF, which will result in the selection of the child or group to professionally record Piper Sky's theme music to be used on the website and in upcoming promotional efforts. The winner(s) will also have the opportunity to showcase their talent live on-air on The Streetz Morning Grind with Rashan Ali on Streetz 94.5 FM. Winners will be selected by a panel of judges who include: Amir Boyd of Epic Records, Victor Jackson, Choreographer (as seen on Bravo TV's The Kandi Factory) and Creative Director of Glam, Rock, Soul, Quinnie Jenkins-Rice, Regional Leader of Community Affairs & Grassroots, Southwest Airlines, Jana Hicks, Editor-In-Chief of Rolling Out Urbanstyle Weekly and Jazzy McBee of Streetz 94.5 FM. The competition is open to youth ages five - 12, sign up will begin at 10 am and will end after the designated number of performance slots have been filled. 

In addition to the youth talent competition, the event will also feature The SheaMoisture Sampling Stations, which will allow consumers to sample and win products from SheaMoisture's all-natural, skin care and hair care lines and a book signing with Rashan Ali. Other event sponsors include: Greenbriar Mall, Streetz 94.5 FM, Concentra Primary Care, Divine Marketing Agency and M320 Counsulting.
