Carline Update

THANK YOU to all of our amazing parents for your patience as we fine tuned our new carline procedures this week! Our time went down from 34 minutes and 11 seconds on Monday to 20 minutes and 22 seconds on Tuesday -- with more improvement to come!

If you have not received your yellow window signs for carline yet, please connect with your classroom teacher. If you need additional signs, please contact the Front Desk.

Thank you to Dan Person at Hard Hat Gear for donating more safety vests for our carline helpers!
Summit parent & Board Member, Dana Thomas (left), thanks the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) for their support with The Summit's Pollinator in Native Gardens on campus. Ashley Schnake (right) with MDC said she was very impressed by The Summit's garden projects during her visit Wednesday morning.

MDC Visits Our Pollinator Garden

Ashley Schnake with the Missouri Department of Conservation stopped by The Summit on August 19th to check out the progress on our native plant pollinator garden. Thank you to all our parent and student volunteers who helped our new plants thrive over the long, hot summer!

The Summit's Native Garden Project, an initiative of the school's STEM Task Force, received a $10,500 grant from the Missouri Department of Conservation's Community Conservation Grant, which "promotes urban wildlife habitat improvement, encourages organizational partnerships for land stewardship, and supports the training of partner staff to manage natural landscapes." The grant, submitted by Summit parent/Board member and botanist, Dana Thomas, provides funding for the habitat improvements being made by the project: the cost of plants, seeds, and mulch. The garden layout was designed by Summit 9th grader Ainsley L.
Now Accepting Applications!

The Summit is still accepting applications for the 2020-2021 school year! We have virtual admissions options and screenings flexible for a variety of family schedules. If you know someone who would love to learn at The Summit, please contact Amy Maas, Summit Admissions Officer.

Don't forget Family Referral Bonuses! Current Summit families who refer a new student to The Summit could receive up to $500 in Growth Fund credit! Email Amy for more details.
Infused Catering

Infused Catering is hiring for a part-time position on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pay is $10/hour.

This would be a perfect position for one (or 3 people each taking a day) to help prepare and deliver lunches to The Summit and Springfield Lutheran.

If you are interested in learning more about the position or know someone who would be, please contact Jill Barron at Infused Catering.
