Reporting COVID-19 Exposure Procedure
If you or someone in your household is notified, or if you suspect, that you have been exposed to COVID-19, please email administration at frontdesk@thesummitprep.org. An administrator will contact you during school hours to discuss necessary precautions to follow before returning to the classroom and/or transitioning to Hybrid Learning.

Please stay home.

Administration will maintain communication with your family and notify the appropriate personnel and families if someone in your household tests positive for COVID-19. This information is considered confidential, and your privacy will be maintained in all such communications.

Please contact your primary care provider or the Springfield-Greene County Health Department for more information on COVID-19 and for recommendations on testing and quarantine.

Questions? Contact Front Desk for an administrator.
Winter Weather Procedures
With winter approaching, we would like to provide you with information regarding potential school closings and/or late starts due to inclement weather. A decision to close school or delay the start of the school day will be made as early as possible, and no later than 6:30 a.m.

Please note that, in accordance with current school policy, consideration may be given to starting the school day at 10:00 a.m., when feasible.

School closing or a delayed start will be communicated through TV and radio media, posted on The Summit's social media pages, and communicated through email and text message.

Teachers will provide information regarding "snow day" activities through their email or Google Classroom and on their class blogs. In the event of back-to-back or extended cancellations, teachers will update information each morning by 8:45 a.m.

Please note: Snow day activities are meant to engage students in continued learning during a brief absence from school. The Summit will not implement a transition to distance learning in cases of inclement weather.

In the event of inclement weather that is NOT deemed serious enough to cancel school but creates a situation where it may not be possible for you to safely make it to school, perhaps due to the location of your home, use your best judgment. Absences or late arrivals due to difficult road conditions will be considered excused.

Rest assured, we will exercise good judgment when considering a school closing or delayed start to the school day, always keeping in mind, first and foremost, the well-being of our Summit community members.

If the rate of infection is increasing, or if you have concerns about exposure based on your travel experience, please notify administration to initiate a transition to hybrid learning.

Our ability to continue learning safely together on campus relies on the strength of our community. Summit families and employees must each do their part to slow the spread of COVID-19 by modeling responsibility, compassion, and civic-mindedness for the benefit of all. We thank our community for its continued support and cooperation in these efforts.

Around Campus
The Summit Film Fest 2020
Upper School students are gearing up for Film Fest 2020! Every year, students work together to develop, script, create, & edit short films based on a central theme. This theme for 2020 is Freedom. Students are busy completing their projects to share with the entire Upper School at a special screening this Friday as part of their Winter Break celebration!

Film Fest is one of the yearly highlights of The Summit's Upper School program and represents project based learning at its finest. Students take full ownership to create humorous, impactful, and truly unique short films that are entirely student-driven, from conception to creation to conclusion.
Girl Scouts Humane Society Collection Drive
The Summit Junior Girl Scouts are still collecting donation items for the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri until THIS FRIDAY, December 18th.

To donate to the collection drive, please drop your items off at carline or bring them to the lobby vestibule. Each class will have a box to collect donations, and the class that collects the most will receive a Krispy Kreme donut party!

Thank you from the Junior Girl Scouts for your support!
