Reporting COVID-19 Exposure Procedure
If you or someone in your household is notified, or if you suspect, that you have been exposed to COVID-19, please email administration at frontdesk@thesummitprep.org. An administrator will contact you during school hours to discuss necessary precautions to follow before returning to the classroom and/or transitioning to Hybrid Learning.

Please stay home.

Administration will maintain communication with your family and notify the appropriate personnel and families if someone in your household tests positive for COVID-19. This information is considered confidential, and your privacy will be maintained in all such communications.

Please contact your primary care provider or the Springfield-Greene County Health Department for more information on COVID-19 and for recommendations on testing and quarantine.

Questions? Contact Front Desk for an administrator.
Winter Weather Procedures
With winter approaching, we would like to provide you with information regarding potential school closings and/or late starts due to inclement weather. A decision to close school or delay the start of the school day will be made as early as possible, and no later than 6:30 a.m.

Please note that, in accordance with current school policy, consideration may be given to starting the school day at 10:00 a.m., when feasible.

School closing or a delayed start will be communicated through TV and radio media, posted on The Summit's social media pages, and communicated through email and text message.

Teachers will provide information regarding "snow day" activities through their email or Google Classroom and on their class blogs. In the event of back-to-back or extended cancellations, teachers will update information each morning by 8:45 a.m.

Please note: Snow day activities are meant to engage students in continued learning during a brief absence from school. The Summit will not implement a transition to distance learning in cases of inclement weather.

In the event of inclement weather that is NOT deemed serious enough to cancel school but creates a situation where it may not be possible for you to safely make it to school, perhaps due to the location of your home, use your best judgment. Absences or late arrivals due to difficult road conditions will be considered excused.

Rest assured, we will exercise good judgment when considering a school closing or delayed start to the school day, always keeping in mind, first and foremost, the well-being of our Summit community members.

Our ability to continue learning safely together on campus relies on the strength of our community. Long-time Summit supporter and Board of Trustees member, Judy Thompson, has received an incredible honor from Drury University, where she has led fundraising and alumni relations for more than 45 years. She will be the namesake of a new 12,000-square foot executive conference center set to open in Fall 2022.

Judy has worked closely with The Summit for the past 10 years, dedicating her time, experience, and expertise and demonstrating her commitment and drive to see The Summit grow and succeed. When asked about Judy's contributions to The Summit, Dr. Katie Heet said, "The Summit has frequently and will continue to look to Judy for her guidance and expertise. She has been instrumental in fostering community contacts and facilitating donor support. In addition, to her role in guiding our organization, Judy has also served as a personal role model and mentor. I admire and aspire to her keen business sense, dynamic professionalism, and generous spirit."

Vince Currao, The Summit's Development Officer, adds, "Judy is an indispensable member of our Summit team - she is classy, brilliant and so deserving of this honor."

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank Judy for her unending support and dedication to education. We extend our sincerest congratulations to her for this incredible achievement to capstone a career that has touched so many lives and continues to look forward to a strong future!
