Raven Report: January 13, 2021
It may be cold outside, but that won't stop 5th Grade from having fun in the Big Backyard!

We are so grateful for our incredible green space that allows our students to laugh and learn together outside all year round! Heaters, a ceiling fan, and electrical outlets have been installed in our outdoor classroom. Stay tuned for more updates on improvements as we continue working on Backyard 2.0!

Join Our Annual Campaign!
Thank you to everyone who made a donation to the Annual Campaign for The Raven Fund last month! With your support, we are already more than halfway to our 2020-2021 fundraising goal of $30,000!

As you know, our Annual Campaign is our most important fundraiser of the year. Proceeds help underwrite the operational and programming costs of The Summit.

Participation counts! Our goal every year is to have 100% participation from our school community. Your pledge in any amount helps us reach that goal!

Please make your pledge today to support The Summit and independent education in the Ozarks!
Summit Parent Organization
SPO Needs Your Loose Change!
One, two, three, four, we declare a coin war!

We are excited to announce our first annual coin drive! Please join us in our efforts to raise money for The Summit Parent Organization. SPO uses these funds to support your school in many different ways. Each class will be provided with a large container to store their coins. The coin drive will run through the month of January, giving you plenty of time to round up all of that loose change from your couch cushions! Classrooms will get a chance to have a friendly competition with one another, and the kids will love to watch their jars fill up!

The prize? A donut party and traveling trophy for the class with the most coins!

For questions, please contact spo@thesummitprep.org.

Around Campus
Lower school students were excited for their first yoga lesson last week. There were lots of smiles and a lot of concentration as they focused on the new movements!
Yoga Offered to All Students at The Summit
After the enthusiastic reception to our middle school yoga elective last fall, The Summit is excited to extend our yoga offering to all students this semester! Movement, gentle stretching, and mindfulness are important for whole child wellbeing, especially in times defined by anxiety and uncertainty. We are fortunate to welcome certified yoga instructors, Ms. Adrienne Parnell and Ms. Dulsey Stewart to The Summit team.

Both Ms. Adrienne and Ms. Dulsey bring years of experience and a passion for fitness and wellness to all Summit students. Namaste!

Sparking the Joy of Learning
At The Summit, we strive to spark the joy of learning in all our students, from Early Learners through high school. For 2nd Grade teacher, Mrs. Collins, seeing the joy of learning in action is her joy of teaching!

"There are so many joys in teaching that can't be explained or understood by those who are not teachers... Today I experienced one of those joys. As we were waiting to go home, I noticed several of my students reading a book together, discussing how beautiful the images were and how special the story was. It was amazing to see them sharing their love of reading and discussing many of the comprehension and writing skills we focus on each day. Nothing is more fulfilling. That is why I am a teacher!"
Now Accepting Applications!
The Summit is still accepting applications for the 2020-2021 school year! We have virtual admissions options and screenings flexible for a variety of family schedules. If you know someone who would love to learn at The Summit, please contact Amy Maas, Admissions & Communications Officer.

Don't forget Family Referral Bonuses! Current Summit families who refer a new student to The Summit could receive up to $500 in Growth Fund credit! Email Amy for more details.
