Summit Campus Closed, Move to Distance Learning Tuesday 3/24

In response to ongoing COVID-19 developments and guidance from the Crisis Management Team, The Summit has closed its campus and will implement its distance learning  plan, effective Tuesday, March 24th through Friday, April 3rd. 

Previously scheduled events, including fields trips and club meetings, will not be held during this time. More information to come as these events are rescheduled.

The Admin team continues to work remotely. Please email if you have any questions or need anything.

Look for more classroom specific information coming from your classroom teachers before Tuesday, March 24th.

Spend Your Summer at The Summit

Camp Raven is the summer program at The Summit for incoming Beginner through 5th grade students. These camps provide a fun and stimulating way for your child to continue learning over the summer break. Each camp is themed to a different topic and encompasses several subject areas, from science and art to music and history. Campers will have fun while learning and making new friends!

It's time to order 2019-2020 Yearbooks! This year the yearbooks will be organized by Summit High Schoolers in the Photojournalism elective. Yearbooks will be on campus for our Yearbook Signing Raven Rally on Friday, May 8th.

STEM Connection

STEM Task Force: Pollinator Garden Update

At the end of February, Summit middle schoolers covered the southwest corner of the backyard with cardboard and then spread mulch over it. The plan is to kill the grass underneath the cardboard and still provide suitable soil conditions for the new native flora species that will be planted in the area.

Board Meeting: Monday, March 23rd

For those interested in virtually attending The Summit Board Meeting on Monday, March 23rd at 5:30 p.m., please email Board President Susan Miranti before noon on 3/23 to be added to the conference call.
As their teammates and parents look on, Summit 6th graders Will and Evelyn test their boomilever to see if it will hold weight during the 2020 Science Olympiad at MSU.

Science Olympiad 2020 at MSU

Summit students competed at Science Olympiad on February 22nd, and the results are in! Our team placed 14th out of 28 teams, and the following students placed in individual events:

4th in Density Lab - Greta A. and Isabella G.
4th in Dynamic Planet - Maren B. and Jonas T.
5th in Elastic Launched Glider - Emily C. and Sydney W.
4th in Meteorology - Hanna L. and Ella S.
5th in Ornithology - Ella S. and Grayson S.

Destination Imagination 2020

Summit 4th and 5th graders get ready to present their 2020 Destination Imagination skit to the judges at the local competition on February 29th. The team placed second overall at their first showing!
