Special Appeal: Backyard 2.0!
The 2020 Fall Special Appeal will be for Backyard Upgrade 2.0!

As you may know, last fall we made a huge appeal to accomplish some great things in our Big Backyard. Thanks to you, we were able to repair and repave the track, boost our WiFi signal across the green space, and build our amazing outdoor classroom.

We knew that our backyard would play a vital role in the 2020-2021 school year, but nobody knew we would rely on it this much! The Summit’s Big Backyard is not only useful, it is essential to keeping students healthy and learning on-campus!

With your help, we can do even more!

That’s why, during the Fall Online Auction, we will be making a special appeal to do even more with our backyard. Imagine, an elevated classroom deck under the trees, outdoor heaters, shade structures, additional seating, patio enhancements, storage, and more! To complete all the projects on our wishlist, we will need approximately $40,000. Will you help us continue upgrading our backyard for our current and future students?

Join us on Friday night during the Fall Online Auction to make a pledge to our special appeal, Backyard 2.0!

For questions, please contact Vince Currao, Development Officer.

Presentation Week in Language Arts
6th Graders have been exploring the concept of Utopia by designing an advertisement for their very own “perfect” society. They each presented their pamphlet and fielded questions from classmates about what their society would look like. Students are now discussing the concept of Dystopia as they prepare to begin Lois Lowry's famous dystopian novel The Giver.

7th and 8th Graders have been studying Greek mythology and chose an Olympian god or goddess to research and present their findings to their classmates. Mr. Alexander was impressed with the students' insightful information and their professional manner while presenting! This week, they will be further exploring the origins of the Olympian gods, the creation myth according to the Ancient Greeks, and the king of the gods, Zeus himself.
School Picture Retakes on Monday 11/2
School Picture Retakes are scheduled for next Monday, November 2nd. Pearce Photo will be on campus to take pictures of anyone who missed Picture Day before or to do retakes for anyone who wishes to have another photo taken. If you choose to take another photo, don't forget to bring in your original picture packet!
