April 2021 - #1
Ravenna Small Biz Connect
Heritage Ohio along with the State Historic Preservation Office is pleased to announce the winning projects for the Paul Bruhn Grant for 2021 and Main Street Ravenna is one of four Ohio Main Street Communities to be chosen to receive grant money!!!

On the National Register, Riddle Block 9, at 200 West Main Street and 113-115 Chestnut Street has had a storied past. Under new ownership, New owners have taken on a big project: the rehabilitation of the historic, but neglected, building in downtown Ravenna. With 50,000 square feet to work with, the building will be readied for a variety of potential uses including commercial/office, retail, and residential.

The Paul Bruhn funds will help return now-vacant residential and commercial spaces to active use. The glass-enclosed atrium will also be restored, returning architectural beauty to one of the iconic Riddle buildings in downtown Ravenna bringing new businesses and new jobs to our community! The RAVENNA DOWNTOWN DISTRICT PLAN is more than just moving around trees, it's about focusing broadly and working directly with residents. It is designed to enhance the character of our beautiful downtown in a collaborative and unifying way. The plan unifies the efforts of various stakeholder groups toward a long-term and shared vision of Ravenna.

The District Plan aims to bring unity to various on-going projects focused on visitor wayfinding, historic preservation, and community programming with an emphasis on the benefits of landscape to improve the aesthetics and sustainability of Ravenna's downtown, a bike plan, parking and civic space.

Join us in April 13 as we invite you to an open house at Main Street Ravenna office courtesy of the Ravenna Area Chamber of Commerce. The plan will be on display and all are invited to stop by to view renderings, talk to our board of directors and ask questions! (Masks will be required and no more than 10 people will be allowed in the office at one time). Watch our social media channels for more details!!!!
