She has all of her work and supplies organized, and she always tries her best to spread kindness with others. She said that she will try her very hardest to stay where she is in school with her work and with her friends.
Teacher of the Week: Ms. Sibayan

Ms. Sibayan is our 7th grade teacher of the week. This teacher is a person filled with much love and kindness. She is a caring person that has so much patience with her students. Students feel safe and comfortable in her classroom. She is not a person with a bad reputation with her students or her fellow staff members, she is just a sweet person that has a heart full of love to give to everyone.
Student Information Verification

This is a friendly reminder to complete the annual Student Information Verification application by Thursday, Dec. 16, to ensure that you continue to receive important updates regarding your child's education.

The application is available on the HISD Connect Parent Portal at HoustonISD.org/Connect.

The form allows you to verify your home address, phone number, email address, and emergency contacts.

If you indicate that your address has changed, someone from your campus will contact you to obtain an updated statement of residence.

If you haven't created your HISD Connect Parent Portal account, register now at HoustonISD.org/Connect

If you have not set up your HISD Connect Parent Portal account and do not have your student's access ID, contact your school directly.

Thank you for keeping your child's information current.
Hello Razorback Parents!

My name is Mrs. J., your proud Hogg Middle School counselor. Today I would like to bring awareness to the Sandy Hook Promise. The Sandy Hook promise is an organization created by the families who lost loved ones at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14, 2012. As a campus we are committed to the Sandy Hook Promise by empowering students and staff to “know the signs” and uniting all people who value the protection of children, we can take meaningful actions in schools, homes, and communities to prevent gun violence and stop the tragic loss of life. Some of the precautions we take here on campus to ensure the safety of everyone at school are:
  • Secured entry points
  • Staff are trained on school safety procedures
  • Classroom doors are required to be locked
  • We have a strict no bullying policy
  • We have Restorative Circles daily to set a positive climate for learning, kindness, and acceptance here on campus.

As parents, I encourage you to know the signs that we train our staff to watch out for when it comes to potentially dangerous behavior here on campus. Signs to watch out for are:
  • A strong infatuation with dangerous objects (if someone is reading about, or studying about weapons)
  • Aggressive behavior, not being able to self-regulate emotions
  • Self-harm or harm to others
  • Posting of dangerous objects on social media
  • Gestures of violence

Remember, if you see something, please say something! There are several platforms you can use to anonymously report potential threats on campus such as the anonymous tip line, the Say Something app, or even a crisis counselor.
