Ms. Glenda Aguilar
Teacher of the Week

Ms. Glenda Aguilar, 7th and 8th Grade Dual Language teacher, is this week’s Razorback Staff of the Week for being a Communicator! Ms. Aguilar believes being a bilingual communicator is a strength that allows her to listen to others, see varying viewpoints, and communicate thoughts, ideas, opinions, and feelings in a harmonious way.

Currently in her third year at Hogg, Ms. Aguilar decided long ago that she wanted to be a teacher who positively impacted her students, just as her HISD teachers did for her. In addition, she hopes to bring honor and glory to God in everything she does and sees every day as an opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life. Her favorite Razorback memories are all the ones she made in her classroom - she misses it so much! But for now, she’s successfully navigating virtual learning by always being prepared with a Plan B...and sometimes a Plan C!

Outside of school, Ms. Aguilar enjoys spending time with her mom whom she considers her best friend! As a native Houstonian, she likes to hit up Taqueria Laredo for homemade tacos and to explore new places.

Everett Denson
Student of the Week

Everett Denson, eighth grader, is this week’s Razorback Student of the Week! Everett was nominated for being a Risk-Taker and believes he exemplifies this trait because he enjoys doing scary things to “get more comfortable with being uncomfortable.” Ask him about the organelle rap he performed in Ms. Guillory’s 7th grade Science class last year! Everett always rises to the occasion and is motivated by the expectations of people like his teachers. His virtual learning tip for fellow Razorbacks is to always make a to-do list!

When not playing with his dog Buddy, Everett likes to play video games and watch YouTube. You can also catch him climbing at the rock gym! In ten years, you’ll likely see Everett working as a scientist - he’s just not sure what type yet!
