Message From Dr. Graham

Greetings from Dr. Graham,

This is a reminder that MAGNET SEASON is upon us, and the Phase 1 deadline to apply to magnet schools for the 2026-2027 school year is Friday, February 27, 2026.

Please make sure that you submit your high school applications before the Phase 1 deadline, as some schools will not have space available after Phase 1 closes.

Students can apply to “up to ten” magnet schools, based on their qualifying matrix scores, and all 8th graders have received their matrix scores.

If you have questions about applying to magnet high schools, please email me at LGraham1@HoustonISD.org.

His inspiration comes from his parents.

“My mom and dad inspire me because of their advice, and my family keeps me going with their support,” he said.

Outside of school, Erik enjoys playing video games and going to boxing practice at Central Boxing Academy.

“I used to watch boxing matches with my dad. He put me in when I was eight,” he said.

His key to success is persistence and take chances.
