Student Of The Week

Jackson French, a seventh-grade student, was selected as the Student of the Week. He strongly demonstrates the IB trait Open Minded. No matter if he’s in the classroom, on the court, or working with his teammates, Jackson shows a willingness to learn from others, try new challenges, and push himself to grow.

Outside of school, Jackson often finds himself playing hours upon hours of squash. He plays for Hogg’s squash team along with squash clubs. One of the biggest influences in his athletic side is his coach, Coach Zain, who has watched Jackson grow as both a player and a leader.

Coach Zain described Jackson as someone who stands out not just for his talent, but for his character.

“Jackson is very respectful and he’s hard working. Overall great leadership potential,” said Coach Zain.

Looking ahead Jackson plans on attending University of Pennsylvania, (UPenn).UPenn is known for its strong squash program that won the National Championchip 2026.

When it comes to inspiration, Jackson looks up to his mom the most. She challenges him to be a better person every day, and her support wants him to stay focused and determined.

He believes success comes from effort and not being afraid to step outside your comfort zone.

“Push yourself and always try your hardest,” he said.

His favorite subject is math, because he likes logical thinking. Along with school, his favorite Hogg memory is the homecoming dance, because he had a good time dancing with his friends.

Eighth grader William Grant is Student of the Week for the IB Trait of Principled. William believes he became Student of the Week because he is a good student and tries his best. Someone who inspires William is his dad.

“He is always there when I need him,” he said.

History is his favorite subject because Will thinks it is easy and he has friends in the class. He wants to go to college at University of Houston Law and get a bachelor’s degree. In his free time, William loves to go camping, fishing, and skiing when he is in the mountains.

“One tip to be successful is to not forget to do your homework and try your best,” he said.

Williams favorite Hogg memory is the last day of sixth grade because all the students got to be outside and threw water balloons at the teachers.
