Summer Programs and Day Camps: Due to social-distancing space limitations as specified by the Restore Illinois Plan Phase 3, we are unable to offer camp at our normal capacities and those registered for our traditional day camps that were to start June 15 have received refunds.
We are committed to providing a safe summer day camp experience for the children of our community. We are offering the following:
- Streaming Summer: June 2020: To provide you with an early summer alternative, we will be offering online programs. Streaming Summer will offer high-quality, safe, and fun recreational programs, in the comfort and safety of your own home. Visit our website for more information and to register: Virtual Programs
- Summer Camp Experience In-Person Camps Start July 6: All camps will consist of smaller group sizes separated by location with the intent to allow for little to no crossover between camp groups. Each camp will have multiple groups of 8 participants, ages 7-12, which stay together for the duration of camp. Registration is open.
- Summer Programs: Staff is targeting Phase 4 for additional youth sports programming such as dance, athletics, gymnastics, karate, etc. Details will be forthcoming.
Summer Events: After careful consideration and current social distancing requirements, we have decided to cancel all of our Lake Forest Parks and Recreation summer events including
Concerts in the Square and the Friends of Lake Forest Parks and Recreation Foundation’s Festival & Fireworks. This was not an easy decision to make or one that was made lightly. Our community has many traditions surrounding these events, and we look forward to summer 2021.
Tennis Courts: Outdoor tennis courts are open with guidelines posted.
Squash/Racquetball Courts: Closed.
Athletic Fields: Fields remain closed.
Parks and Playgrounds: Parks have remained open for walking, jogging, and biking during the stay-at-home order as long as social distancing guidelines are followed. However, playgrounds, restrooms and park water fountains will remain closed.
Fall Program Guide: You will be receiving communication regarding the start of our fall programs as we get closer to August. A decision has not yet been made regarding the printing of a fall brochure. Please stay tuned for more information.
Our team is prepared to adjust and make appropriate changes as we get closer to Phase 4-Revitalization. We will continue to keep you as informed as possible. For the latest information, please visit our
