As we gather in the woods this week for our Facilitators Retreat at Hazel Hill Wood, this month’s newsletter focuses on the role of reflection in practice and our re-accreditation process. We also have a small number of spaces remaining on Group Dynamics in June for those considering next steps in their facilitation development — scroll down for details.
For many facilitators, reflection is an important part of practice. It helps us stay connected to what we are doing, how we are doing it, and the impact our work is having on the group we work with and ourselves. Reflection can take many forms, including personal reflection, critical reflection, supervision, structured assessment, and dialogue with peers and others in the field. At the same time, making space for reflection can often feel difficult amidst the ongoing demands that facilitation work can place upon us, which was one of the reasons for creating the retreat as a new offering for our community this year.
Our re-accreditation process is another way we support and encourage this ongoing reflection in practice.
Re-accreditation with us...
The process for re-accreditation is straightforward and builds on work you have already done. We provide a purposeful space to reset and refresh, allowing your facilitation practice to be advanced by a phase of active reflection - a helpful way to gather, consolidate and move forward.
It is designed to promote self-regulation and to encourage ongoing professional and personal development, and we often hear how valuable the re-accreditation process can be as a reflective space in itself.
A number of our members will have accreditation due for renewal this summer or later in the year. If you are unsure when your accreditation is due for renewal, please do feel free to get in touch and we can check this for you.
