First of all, I want to say “thank you!” to everyone who wrote to tell me they enjoyed the piece I wrote about my parents. I have had so much feedback – all of it positive. You are all so kind.
On Thursday, June 11, Governor Chris Sununu announced that
libraries would be able to
open with some restrictions beginning June 15.
Lost in the background of that wonderful announcement was the part where he said that
some libraries will have extra requirements over and above (his) recommendations
.
The highest priority of the Rodgers Memorial Library Board of Trustees is the safety of our library
staff and patrons as we move towards normalizing services at RML.
The Board of Trustees will discuss when and how to re-open the library on Wednesday, June 17. I plan to present Phase 2 of the library reopening at this meeting, whereupon they will evaluate the plan and make their decision. I will implement whatever they decide.
As a part of the reopening procedures, the library staff, some of whom have been at home since March, will return to the library for safety training. You may see extra cars in the parking lot next week. We will not be open for our patrons at that time. However, the curbside service, which has been very effective over the last few weeks, will continue for the foreseeable future.
