JLO CD Jukebox License Deadline Looms

The March 15, 2012, deadline for licensing CD jukes through the Jukebox License Office fast approaches.

AMOA recently reminded the trade, via its online newsletter Off The Top, that operators "must be an AMOA member in good standing for 2012 when you purchase the JLO licenses" at the association's discounted price.

After the first license is secured for $454, AMOA members receive a $28 per box discount on the second and subsequent JLO licenses. The rate for members on those licenses is $77 versus $105 for nonmembers. Log on to www.amoa.com to learn more.

Apple Industries/Face Place launched a new finance program for the month of March.

"Purchasers of our photo booths can get financing that is interest free and requires no payments for six months," said Apple sales director Mel LaForce. "Photo booths are hot, we have our new Smile 2.0 software available and now you don't have to pay for 6 months."

The finance program, which is provided through Firestone Financial Corp., is available on all Apple/Face Place photo booths, until March 31, 2012. GameWorks Moving Off The Vegas Strip

The GameWorks store located along the Las Vegas strip is looking for a new home.  "High rent and too few customers are forcing the part-arcade, part-restaurant from its prominent spot on the Strip, which opened 15 years ago as the flagship location for the burgeoning national chain," reported the Las Vegas Sun newspaper. Company executives say they will likely move the facility to a locale that caters more to locals than tourists. Meanwhile, half the workforce will be laid off, while the other half will be transferred to other stores, at least until the new Las Vegas venue opens.
