Clinical Trial Excellence Campaign (CTEC)
OCTA Strategic Activation Manager (SAM) Support for Industry Trials
In an effort to meet CTEC's goal of 90-day study activation, OCTA is deploying SAM support to select new industry-funded studies. SAM support includes conducting kickoff meetings with the sponsor/CRO and internal groups involved in trial startup (OCTA, IRB, ICD, study team, PI).
SAMs will also track parallel processing across central offices (IRB, OCTA, ICD), provide bi-weekly updates to stakeholders, and assist in escalations as needed. More information regarding OCTA SAM support will be available on OCTA’s website in the coming weeks.

Expanded Trainings for Responsible Conduct of Research
UCSF has recently reorganized and expanded its training offerings for Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) to better match courses with research areas. These three courses include Human Subjects RCR, Basic Science RCR, and Graduate Student RCR.
Instruction in RCR is required of all federally funded trainees at all career stages at least every four years and at least once per career stage. This applies to graduate students, postdocs, fellows, and faculty funded on any type of training or career development award (e.g. T, K, or F awards). This training is separate from the online CITI training required by the UCSF IRB.
Registration is now open for Human Subjects RCR. Visit the UCSF RCR website for details and contact information for each course.
