Congratulations to the incredibly hard-working team at the ReStore for making this the BEST consignment/resale shop in the Twin Cities. Thanks to everyone who voted, giving the ReStore First Place in The Pantagraph Readers' Choice Awards.
We're celebrating the win by thanking our customers! Join us for a Customer Appreciation Week Sept 28-Oct 2. There will be daily gift card drawings, additional savings, and treats (while they last). Like, comment, and share ReStore facebook posts this week to be entered to win ReStore gift cards and gift cards from 5 other Readers' Choice first place winners.
It gets better. Five lucky winners will be permitted to attend our exclusive shopping hour this Saturday, October 2nd from 9am-10am. You'll get first dibs on purchasing items before the store officially opens at 10am.
Whether you shop once or twice a month, every other day, or still have a visit to the ReStore on your bucket list, this week is a great time to stop in.

Meet Trayce Bartley, Board secretary
|
|
As Director of Surgical Services at Carle BroMenn Medical Center and Carle Eureka Hospital for the last nine years, Trayce Bartley leads a team of seven managers and over 100 team members whose goal is to ensure patients receive outstanding care and achieve great health outcomes. His team is responsible for the clinical and business components of surgery. The leadership team ensures physicians and staff have the equipment, supplies, and technology they need to achieve that goal.
He is in his third year on the Habitat McLean County Board of Directors, serving as Secretary this year. He also serves on the ReStore and Executive Committees. Trayce has been married to Angie for 32 years and they have two adult children, Bryce (26) and Rebecca (22).
When asked why Habitat McLean County is important to him, Trayce said. “The mission of Habitat appeals to me and has for some time. With adult children now, I have time to give back and use my skills to help others. Habitat McLean County provides a tangible helping hand to others, not a handout. We partner with families who thought home ownership was never possible. Knowing these families are providing ‘sweat equity’ and have the work ethic and desire to help build their home is inspiring. Having equity in their home and a reasonable mortgage on a home that is safe for their family can serve as a catalyst and create a new legacy for the family and community. Everyone deserves safe, affordable housing.”
We are always looking for talented community members to lend their skills to fulfilling our mission. If you'd like to learn more about the Habitat McLean County board, email president Sheri Bruun.

Progress on Makala/Mbembi home
|
|
The walls are up, the roof is on. The plumbing is roughed in. Windows and doors are ordered and we'll soon be insulating the Makala/Mbembi house on W Locust Street in Bloomington.
A million thanks to Rick Lee, Roger Scott, Gary Klass, and Hank Campbell for their building guidance as project directors. Another million thanks to all the volunteers from St Patrick Church of Merna, who come out every Saturday to build this house. Not only do they provide the strong backs and capable hands, they are the lead financial sponsor on this house.
We can't thank them enough for their support and dedication
to building affordable housing in our community.
