May 17, 2023 | Give now to make a difference in children's lives
Love in Action purchasing deadline moved to tomorrow:
Give generously today to transform students' lives
Tomorrow, May 18, is the deadline to buy items for Baltimore school children for the BWC's Love in Action Annual Conference service project.

On the morning of June 2, a thousand United Methodists will pause in the business of their annual meeting and put love into action during a service project in Baltimore that focuses on meeting the expressed needs of under-resourced schools and their students. About a third of the members will pack bags full of school supplies for 2,000 students in eight elementary schools.

The needed supplies, which are being purchased in bulk, include:

  • Crayons -- $43.20
  • Pencils -- $29.99
  • Pencil Sharpeners -- $23.99
  • Erasers -- $14.50
  • Markers -- $29.99
  • Glue Sticks -- $27.40
  • Scissors -- $21.99

See the Amazon Wish List to take the first step in making a dramatic difference in these young students' lives.
An Important Note: When checking out, you'll be prompted to choose a shipping address. Scroll down to the Other addresses heading and select: "Heart of America/United Methodist School Supplies' Gift Registry Address." Items must be sent to this address and will not be accepted at the Annual Conference site.

Items purchased from the Wish List will be packaged along with a book for each child. The books are being provided by Heart of America, with personalized notes, written by United Methodists at the Annual Conference Session, to encourage students.

More than 300 United Methodists will also be leaving the hotel in Baltimore to do painting, repairs, and beautification at local elementary schools and other local sites.

As part of the service project, we are excited to partner with Heart of America (HOA), a national nonprofit focused on educational equity through the renovation of spaces and resource distributions.

You and your congregation are encouraged to love and give generously to this vital mission outreach. For more information, contact communications@bwcumc.org.
