Friends,
Over the last six months, many people have asked variations of this question:

“How has ministry looked for Reach Out during the pandemic?”

The word that keeps coming to mind is “IMPACT.” Although international travel halted, and the effects of the pandemic are still being felt, we are humbled at how God continues to use Reach Out to make an impact in reaching the younger generation around the world.
Impacting Youth Leaders . . .
Alina is a youth leader in Perm, Russia. She was recently trained in Jesus-Focused Youth Ministry and gave this testimony:
“We learned to listen and hear each other. Now I know how to be a team player. The training gave me experience in evangelism. Thanks to the topics that we discussed I can share the gospel with teenagers of this world in a more comprehensive way.”
Osvaldo and Debora are youth pastors at Rio Verde Church in Cuba. They were trained in JFYM last year. Osvaldo describes ministry during Covid-19:
“We have worked in keeping contact with our students and discipling them through WhatsApp groups, short visits, and phone-calls. Recently we went back to our small groups – everyone returned with great excitement, and now we’re ready to keep multiplying the discipleship in the lives of those students. For all of us, this has been a time to review ourselves and reach the conclusion that we have a great need of Jesus.”
Impacting Students . . .
During the month of April, Regional Leader Joseph Omondi traveled to different pool playing centers in Western Kenya and shared the gospel. As a result, there were 60 youth who gave their lives to Christ. In the last 6 months, Regional Leader, Enoch Ambokah and the students he has been discipling, spread the Gospel to the youth in their community and witnessed over 300 students become followers of Jesus Christ. And in Ruiru, 12 boys on a basketball team (including one of Muslim faith), became believers this month as a result of sports outreach to the teens in that city.
(Interesting fact - that town is the location where the JFYM Online Experience was filmed in Swahili last year!)
Impacting Churches . . .
Yamira is a youth pastor and an Eagle Leader in Camaguey, Cuba. She is also a pediatrician who has been working with Covid-19 patients during the pandemic. Yamira recently said this regarding these challenging days,
“I know God is using this experience to move us to be merciful and bring us more toward Him…”
She led a JFYM Forum in Santa Lucia within the first two months of 2020. Isabel was one of the ladies trained by Yamira in that forum. Although her church was without a pastor, Isabel shared all that she learned from the training. Now that her church is starting to implement the essential characteristics of JFYM, they are discovering it is helping them navigate through the challenging days of this pandemic. She said the church has been much more focused on knowing Christ and serving others, rather than on the disappointment of cancelled events due to Covid-19.
Impacting Countries . . .
Psalm 103:2-5 describes the impact of the Almighty God on our lives in this way…

“Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”

Thank you for partnering with Reach Out through your prayers and financial support as God continues to use us around the world to impact the younger generation with His forgiveness, redemption, healing, and renewal.
Jesus is Lord,
