REACTING TO SNOW & RECORD COLD WEATHER

We spent the weekend battling the elements, clearing snow and ice while simultaneously spreading deicer and gravel. Single-digit temperatures and gale-force winds made the work incredibly challenging, but our team persevered. The brutal cold hampered our efforts, as some equipment refused to start and the liquid deicer thickened, making application difficult. Protecting our team working in the biting wind chills added another layer of complexity. With the threat of freezing rain looming on Tuesday, we remain on high alert.

The high wind also took down and broke branches out of many trees. We have already begun that clean-up and hope we do not get the freezing rain predicted, as that could cause even more damage. We will be cleaning up landscapes for weeks.

Winter Storm Watch in effect from January 16, 10:00 AM PST until January 17, 04:00 AM PST

We are on high alert for the developing freezing rain Tuesday and will be sending all winter weather customers our plan this afternoon.
