Hello Glastonbury!

Summer (and our Summer Reading Program!) arrive in June, and with them, the need to find new books that will be worthy of your beach blanket, your hammock, and (if you’re like me) your lunch break. Frequent Library visitors already know to browse our book displays and our “new” and “lucky day” shelves to find a great read, and they know our friendly staff members always have a book or two to recommend – But did you know we also have several helpful online resources to give some extra guidance?! First, Register for a Wowbrary eNewsletter, a free resource that sends you newly released titles in every genre for you to review – and it’s coordinated with the WTML collection, so you’ll know that every book listed is one you can borrow! Next, take a look at Novelist, a resource that lets you enter a few key words (or a recently enjoyed title!) to get suggested books you might enjoy. There are a ton of mix-and-match ways to narrow down your preferences, and you can use the results to create a truly custom “to read” list. Finally, if you just want a read-alike, check out our online catalog – I use it regularly to find my next read by searching for a book I loved and scrolling all the way down to the bottom of it’s entry – there, you’ll find other books and authors to consider (and placing the hold is just a click away!). No matter what you choose, don’t forget to log it in the WTML reading program to earn this year’s reading T-shirt and other fantastic prizes!

Happy Reading,

Amy

Read, Renew, Repeat: Summer Reading 2024

Even babies have a special program just for them! The Program encourages reading – and recycling- throughout the summer in all formats: books, e-books, audiobooks, and library programs; on your own or together as a family. Register any time during the program, which runs from June 7 to August 3.
