Understanding the Early Signs of Alzheimer's:

What Families Should Know

Every year in June, we observe Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month – a time to shed light on a disease that touches millions of lives and to empower families with knowledge and compassion. Whether you’re beginning to notice subtle changes in a loved one or just want to be informed, recognizing the early signs of Alzheimer’s can make all the difference in getting the right support at the right time.

At Moosehaven, we walk alongside families on every step of their journey and offer many levels of care, including memory care. Here’s what to look for – and what to do next if you’re concerned.

Visit the Moosehaven blog to learn more about early signs and symptoms.

Moosehaven AAA Update

AAA Project Progress

At Moosehaven, we recently celebrated a meaningful construction milestone: the Topping Out Ceremony for our new facility. This special tradition included raising a palm tree and American flag to the highest point of the structure - symbolizing pride, progress, and the growth ahead. Our team and partners gathered to honor the journey so far, with the first ceremonial signature on the structural column made by our very own Executive Director, Helen Taylor. This celebration marks more than just a construction update - it’s a testament to the impact this space will have on our community for years to come.

Resident Activities

Father's Day Luncheon

At Moosehaven, we celebrated Father’s Day with a lunch as special as the men we honored.

Thanks to our incredible Morrison Living dining staff, residents were treated to a mouthwatering meal featuring filet mignon, creamy mashed potatoes, glazed carrots, spinach-strawberry salad, and a decadent caramel toffee cheesecake for dessert.

Ms. Moosehaven Pageant 2025

At Moosehaven, tradition and joy go hand in hand - and nowhere was that more evident than at this year’s Ms. Moosehaven Pageant! Residents from across campus came together to celebrate grace, beauty, and the vibrant spirit of community that makes life here so special.

Rose Garden Refresh

At Moosehaven, our gardens thrive thanks to residents like Maggie Lazuka, who lovingly tends to the rose garden and other flower beds across campus.

One morning, Maggie and fellow resident Fred Fleet noticed the gazebo in the rose garden needed a little care. Fred offered to stain it himself if Moosehaven could supply the materials. Soon after, Melanie Fell, wife of our Chief of Security, donated a lovely stepping stone to complete the scene.

Ms. Senior Clay County Pageant

We take immense pride in our two remarkable ladies who recently represented Moosehaven at the 18th Annual Ms. Senior Clay County Pageant, hosted by the Clay County Senior Advocacy Council at The Hilltop Restaurant.

Please join us in saying "welcome home" to our newest residents who decided to take advantage of the wonderful retirement at Moosehaven!
