As we get closer to the end of summer (it’s too soon!), we can only guess what your gardens look like. So don’t make us guess: send in your photos of your gardens grown by our seed library seeds! You can email them to Laura at lnorcia@ledyardlibrary.org to go on our social media. If you’ve got helpers in your garden (of the two or four legged varieties), please make sure to include their names as well as what plants are in the photos.
As a reminder, we still have seeds at each library. The growing season might be winding down, but there’s still time for year-round container gardens. Happy Gardening Ledyard!

Support the Library – Get Involved with the Friends! Love the library? The Friends of the Ledyard Library are looking for new faces and energy to help us continue supporting Bill and Gales Ferry Libraries through programs, events, and fundraising efforts that benefit the whole community. Whether you’re a longtime resident or new to town, this is a great opportunity to meet neighbors, give back, and make a difference.
Join us at our next quarterly meeting on Thursday, October 19th—the Executive Board meets at 6:00 PM, and the General Meeting starts at 7:15 PM. All are welcome!
We’re also looking to fill two Member-at-Large positions on our Board:

Member, focus on social media and publicity

Member, assist Membership Chair with outreach and engagement.

No experience needed, just a willingness to pitch in! 1-2 hr a month time commitment
Prefer to help at events instead?

Volunteers are needed for our Annual Book Sale (Aug 23–Sept 6)—a popular fundraiser that draws book lovers from across town. We could use help moving books, setting up shelves, and staffing the cashier table.

Looking ahead to fall, our Snowflake Festival in November (mid Oct-Nov) features a silent auction with beautiful gift baskets. We're looking for wrapping helpers, basket designers, cashiers, and local businesses willing to donate gifts. We could use the help as early as possible to prepare for the event.
And lastly, we have the following Special Library days coming up: September is Library Card Sign-Up Month, October celebrates Banned Books Week, and November marks National Nonfiction Day.
