Update to Library Hours

Both library buildings will be closed Veterans' Day on Tuesday, November 11, and closed for Thanksgiving on, Thursday and Friday, November 27 and 28.

The Friends of the Ledyard Public Library will hold their annual Snowflake Festival on Saturday, November 22, at Ledyard Bill Library. Join the fun with a silent auction, craft/bake sale, and holiday music presented by the Flute Loops and Ledyard Carolers. Silent auction items are currently on display at Ledyard Bill Library and Gales Ferry Library. Auction items include completed gift baskets, gift cards for local businesses, event tickets, and so much more!

Our Annual Snowflake Festival is approaching soon. It'll feature a silent auction with beautiful gift baskets for the holiday season on Saturday, November 22. Bidding on baskets has already begun at both libraries, so please go take a look! 

We're still in need of donations of buy now items: new hand-crafted items, gift quality used books for all ages and genres, and baked goods dropped off on the 21st or morning of the 22nd.

We have several volunteer opportunities. Even a few hours of help is very appreciated! Below are the volunteer shifts:

• Friday 11/21 - Set up and Pricing 9 am [2-3 volunteers needed]
• Sat 11/22 - Day of final bidding & finale of event
• Cashier Shifts:
• 11 am - 1 pm [1 volunteer needed]
• 1 - 3 pm [1 volunteer needed]
• 3- 5 pm  [2-3 volunteers needed]
• 2:30-5 [up to 4 volunteers, one with a cell phone to help call the winners]

It's that time of year again! Holiday Giving tags are up at Bill Library and Gales Ferry Library.

We partner with Ledyard Social Services to get books to kids for the holidays, and we are so thankful for the help we receive from the community each year! If you'd like to donate, stop by the library and register a tag with a staff member at the front desk. Then you can either purchase a book for a child or donate $14.00 and Mrs. Burt will handle purchasing the book for you. These books will be given out at the Adopt-A-Family holiday event in December. Holiday Giving books and donations are due Wednesday, December 3. This is one of our favorite events of year, and we couldn't do this without the help from such a generous community. THANK YOU!
