Read an eBook Day was September 18. In honor of Read an eBook Day, we are asking for donations. Can you spare $1.80 per eBook read in September? Any amount is appreciated. Donations can be dropped off at Bill or Gales Ferry. Please mark your donation with eBook Fundraiser.
October 15 - 21 is National Friends of the Libraries Week. We will hold a membership drive and hope you’ll consider joining us. The membership form can be found here. Any extra donations are welcomed.
Snowflake Festival is being held on Saturday, November 18, and preparations are underway. Volunteers are needed for setup (11/17 or 11/18) and cleanup (11/18). We also need cashiers (11/18) and helpers to finalize the silent auction and notify the winners (11/18). Please contact Sarah if you can help: 860 464-9538 or FollPresident@gmail.com
The Snowflake Festival Silent Auction Committee is accepting donations for the upcoming fundraiser. The deadline for donations of gift cards, special items, and wrapped, themed baskets is Friday, October 13. Bidding begins Friday, October 27. If you or your business would like to donate, email SilentAuctionFOLL@gmail.com or call Jan Dawson at 860-912-3235. All proceeds benefit Ledyard Public Library and its patrons.
Dum-Dum lollipops are requested to support the ongoing scavenger hunt in the Children's Room at both Bill and Gales Ferry Library. Participants earn a lollipop for finding all of the items on the list. Bags of Dum-Dums are greatly appreciated and can be given to Mrs. Burt.
Trunk-or-Treat is Friday, October 27. Donations of candy are requested for this great community event. Popular items for the bags are Smarties, sour candies, and gummy candies. They can be dropped off for Mrs. Burt at either library.
Ongoing book sales are at both libraries: in the Bill Library meeting room and the Gales Ferry Library Book Cellar, each open during normal library hours. All sales go toward support of the library.
