National History Bowl: Feb. 27
Six Bishop Chatard students will compete in the National History Bowl on Saturday, Feb 27. The Bowl is a buzzer-based quiz competition against schools from across the United States. The event is typically held in-person (Washington DC and other cities), but is being hosted virtually this year due to COVID-19.

The BCHS team will compete in the Varsity Division and is comprised of Junior James Haas; Sophomores Nick Borchers, Jack Dixon, Elizabeth Kohlhaas, and Cole Weber; and Freshman Colin Kirchgessner. The team has been preparing for the competition and is guided by History teacher Greg Miller. Good luck to the BCHS team!

The Bowl is part of International Academic Competitions, a network of competitions across all academic subjects. The History Bowl seeks to give students an appreciation for the past, and the quiz questions reward students who can make connections across eras, places and themes in history.

The Senior Grandparent Mass will be held virtually on March 4 at 9:40 a.m. Although the pandemic has changed the format of this event, we hope this time for seniors and their grandparents to pray together through the Mass will provide an opportunity to strengthen the spiritual connection between grandparent and grandchild. Use this link to view the Senior Grandparent Mass on March 4.
Magazines needed for retreats
Campus Ministry is collecting old or new magazines. Please send magazines that you no longer want with your student to the Campus Ministry office. Magazines will be used for a creative project during our retreats. Magazines are needed by Friday, Feb. 26.

Thank you for your support! Please contact Steven Patzke at spatzke@bishopchatard.org with any questions.
Financial Aid Applications for current families due March 10
Financial aid applications for current families are due by March 10. This application, submitted through FACTS, is extremely important. Use your 2020 tax returns and upload those documents as soon as possible. If you need to extend your tax return, please submit the application and note in the comments section that you are extending.

If you are a voucher family, please remember that while the IRS will allow an extension to file your returns to October 15, the state of Indiana requires a 2020 tax return to qualify for the voucher (that deadline is August 1). If you have questions, please contact Karen Feeney at kfeeney@bishopchatard.org.

2021 Summer Camp Update
Bishop Chatard is hopeful that we will be able to host athletic and enrichment camps on campus this summer. As with so many things in our lives, scheduling and registration of 2021 Summer Camps has been put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As soon as information is available, we will communicate that through our parent emails and on our website. We look forward to once again hosting summer camps at BCHS! Questions? Contact Maureen Malarney at summercamp@bishopchatard.org.
COVID-19 student reporting procedure
If your child tests positive for COVID-19 or is quarantining due to COVID-19 exposure, please contact BCHS using the email address medical@bishopchatard.org. A list of information to be provided in that email is available on the BCHS Virtual Learning Hub page.

Please note that the medical@bishopchatard.org email address is to be used only to report COVID-19 positive test results or quarantining due to exposure, and report COVID-related absences. Standard school procedures should still be used to report a daily absence for COVID-19 or for other reasons, or to ask health-related questions. View Bishop Chatard's standard procedure for reporting absences here.
