IMPORTANT Indiana Choice Scholarship Application for ALL Families - DUE THIS FRIDAY

A reminder that the deadline for all returning or incoming BCHS families to submit their paperwork for the Indiana Choice Scholarship application for the 2026–2027 school year is this Friday, May 1. Even if you have completed the FACTS financial aid application, you still need to complete this step as well.

Please click here for instructions, links to forms and more information about the award amount. Contact Christa Wynk, Vice President of Finance, at (317) 251-1451, ext. 2251 or cwynk@bishopchatard.org if you have any questions.

Traffic & Parking Changes Begin Monday, May 4

Construction on the Performing Arts Center and Chapel begins next week on Monday, May 4. Watch for an email on Thursday this week that outlines important information on traffic and parking changes.

Cafeteria Balances - End of School Year

All students must reconcile their cafeteria accounts by the end of the school year. Seniors must have a zero balance in order to pick up their cap and gown. For details, please review the formal charging policy, including the refund policy for senior accounts. Families also have the option to donate remaining funds to the Angel Fund, which helps support other students in need with their cafeteria balance. Please contact Michael Dlugosz with any questions.

AP Testing - May 4-15

AP testing will take place May 4-15. Students should report to the Auxiliary Gym by 7:45 am for 8:00 am exams, which is earlier than the regular school day—please plan accordingly. For 12:00 pm exams, students will be released at 11:15 am for lunch; cafeteria options will be available.

Students should bring a fully charged iPad and charger. Snacks are permitted. If a student has two exams in one day, they should bring a lunch to eat between exams. Some exams on May 8 and during the second week may conflict with senior finals. Additional details will be shared directly with students and teachers so seniors can plan ahead.

If a student misses an exam, Ms. Katra will follow up regarding a makeup date. For questions, please contact Sami Katra, School Counselor and AP Coordinator. Click here for schedules and additional information.

May Crowning - Friday, May 1

Bishop Chatard’s May Crowning will take place on Friday, May 1 at 9:30 am during our all-school Mass in the Main Gym. This special tradition honors Mary as Queen of Heaven, and our sophomore class will play a meaningful role in the procession, placing flowers and crowning Mary. Sophomore parents are welcome to attend (limited seating available). Sophomores are encouraged to dress in light colors, blue, or white, following modest dress guidelines.

College Decision Day - Friday, May 1

Seniors are invited to celebrate College Decision Day by wearing a t-shirt of the school or institution they will attend and come celebrate during lunches in Silas West. There will be photo opportunities and snacks for seniors.

Walk-a-Thon 2026 - A Success!

Walk-a-Thon, a long-standing Bishop Chatard tradition, teaches students the value of philanthropy and giving back, helping form habits of generosity and service that extend well beyond high school.

This year was no exception! Students raised a record-breaking $54,100 through their personal fundraising pages in support of tuition assistance. Thank you to our families for their encouragement, and to our Peer Student Leaders for inspiring their classmates and leading by example. For more information, contact Margaret Ruffing, Executive Director of Development, at mruffing@bishopchatard.org.
