IMPORTANT: Chatard-a-Bration Set-Up Parking & Traffic Information

As mentioned in last week’s Parent Newsletter, a large tent will be on campus Friday through Monday for this year’s Chatard-a-Bration event. Due to this, parking in the back lot close to Door 10 will be affected 2/20 and 2/23. Please refer to this map and information below for specific details.



Friday (2/20) and Monday (2/23) Drop-Off

• Drop-off will take place in the back parking lot across from the softball field pavilion. There will be no car access in front of Door 10 and no turnaround available. After dropping off, you must exit straight ahead and will only be able to turn RIGHT onto Kessler.
• If you need to travel in a different direction, please use Crittenden for drop-off instead.
• Access to the second parking lane will be limited to student and staff parking only, cannot be used as a throughway.
• We strongly suggest picking up on Crittenden on Friday or waiting a little longer after dismissal, as the parking lot will be congested.
• The parking lot should be clear and back to normal for Monday pick-up.

Make Your Voice Heard for Catholic Education

As you may have already heard, the Choice Scholarship will be UNIVERSAL next school year. This is wonderful news, as it makes all families eligible regardless of income. (More about this process will be shared in late spring). In the meantime, we need your help! 

We invite Bishop Chatard families to support an important piece of legislation impacting tuition assistance for Catholic schools across Indiana. House Bill 1176 would remove income requirements from the SGO (Scholarship Granting Organization) tax credit program, aligning it with the Choice Scholarship Program and reducing administrative burden for families and schools. SGO support plays a vital role in making a Catholic education accessible at BCHS. The bill will soon be heard in the Senate Appropriations Committee, and your voice matters. Please consider contacting committee members to express your support and, if possible, share your personal experience with tuition assistance. Click here to contact legislators.

The Cafeteria is unveiling a new breakfast menu focusing on healthy lifestyle choices, and limiting processed sugar. An assortment of high protein, school-compliant foods will be offered that are geared to boost concentration, keep students full, and aid in athletic recovery. Please note the new date for the Senior Grandparent Mass: Thursday, April 23. Mass will still begin at 9:30 am. Watch for more details in March.

We will hold parent meetings for the upcoming football season on the dates below in the cafeteria. We ask that one parent or guardian for each player plan to attend. Please note the updated start time of 6:30 pm for these meetings.

Indy Northside College Fair - Wednesday, March 11

The Indy Northside College Fair will take place on Wednesday, March 11, from 6:00–8:00 pm at Carmel High School. This event is open to students in grades 9–11. Preregistration is required, but admission is free. Click here for additional details. Click here to register.

2026 Driver's Education

Registration is open for 2026 Driver’s Education classes. Students will participate in one session held during the month of June. Enrollment is limited to Bishop Chatard students who are at least 15 years old by May 23, 2026.

• Session 1 - June 1-11, 2026
• Session 2 - June 15-25, 2026
• In-car driving (6 days) must take place throughout the summer before July 31, 2026.
• Location: Bishop Chatard High School
• Cost: $450

Scheduling - 2026-2027 School Year

Scheduling for the 2026–2027 school year has begun! Sophomores and juniors received in-class scheduling presentations last month, and freshmen will have their presentations in mid-February. Following these presentations, each student will sign up for a one-on-one meeting with their counselor to select courses for the upcoming school year.

New this year: Students will be asked to obtain a parent signature on their scheduling sheet before meeting with their counselor.

Students will have until the end of March to submit their course selections. Counselors will revisit schedules with students in late May to make any necessary adjustments.

We encourage you to ask your student about their scheduling packet and take time to review course options together. A complete list of course offerings and descriptions can be found here. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the BCHS counseling team.

Trojan Tots Preschool is looking for substitute teachers to work with our young Trojans. This position has flexible hours between 7 am-5:30 pm. Our preschool serves ages 6 weeks to 5 years, and follows the same school calendar as Bishop Chatard High School. Registration deposits for current students of $350 per student ($500 per family) are due Friday, February 27. Deposits will be automatically withdrawn on that date for families with a current FACTS account. If you need to make other arrangements, please email Bob Bell by February 19.

Financial Aid Applications for Current Families - Due Sunday, March 15
Financial aid applications for current families are due Sunday, March 15 and must be submitted through FACTS. Applying by this deadline ensures your family is included in the financial aid review process for the 2026–2027 school year. Click here to learn more and apply.
