Campus Ministry
Virtual Retreat Series
As we enter the last month of the semester, Campus Ministry is offering a four-week virtual retreat series for students, staff and families called "Beloved." Each video is less than 5 minutes, so the retreat can be done by individuals or as a family! We encourage the entire BCHS community to participate in some time in prayer and reflection as we wrap up the school year. A new part of the retreat will be released each Wednesday until complete. Please check out Part 2 here!
Remote Christian Service Opportunities
While Christian Service is not a requirement for the remainder of the school year, we still want to provide opportunities for students to serve from home. Check out this link for some resources of how students and families can serve remotely. View Bishop Chatard's revised service hour requirements for the school year here .

Emmaus Groups: All students were invited via email to participate in virtual small faith groups with Campus Ministry. Currently, three groups are running on Wednesdays. If students are interested in getting involved, they should email Mr. Patzke at spatzke@bishopchatard.org.
Campus Ministry e-Learning Resources

School News (worth repeating!)
Senior girls receive prom day surprise!
Bishop Chatard's senior prom was supposed to be held April 25 but, like proms at most high schools, it fell victim to COVID-19 and has been postponed. But the virus didn't kill the chivalry associated with prom.
On prom day, flowers were delivered to all of Bishop Chatard's senior girls, and those cards included a card signed "2020 Trojan Men." Senior girls received flowers whether they were planning to attend the prom or not. The girls knew that even though the dance was not occurring that night, they were in the thoughts of their classmates. Read the rest of the story here! BCHS even received a little national coverage on Good Morning America this week. Watch GMA's shout-out here!

Drivers Education Registration
Bishop Chatard will again be offering Driver Education this summer. The 2020 Summer Driver’s Education Course at Bishop Chatard is a state-certified course open to all students who are at least 15 years of age by May 26, 2020. The cost is $400, which includes both the classroom session and the in-car driving sessions. Unfortunately, we will not be able to admit non-BCHS students to the course this year.
Paperwork: Each student will receive, through the mail, the required forms that allow them to get their driver’s education permit from the license branch three weeks before the beginning of class.
Classroom Sessions: Per State of Indiana guidelines pertaining to school closure due to Covid-19, classroom sessions will be offered virtually via Canvas this year. There will be no in-person classroom sessions. Online session begins May 26.
In-Car Sessions: These sessions will be scheduled by the student at the beginning of class. The dates for the driving portion are still to be determined and will comply with Indiana BMV and DOE mandates. Click here to register and read more about drivers education.
Summer 2020 Work Study Information
Citizenship Grants (formerly Summer Work Study) applications are currently on hold and have not yet been posted to the BCHS website. BCHS knows that families depend on these opportunities to help offset tuition, and we will continue to monitor social distancing guidelines before making a decision to offer Citizenship Grant opportunities.

Please contact Karen Feeney,  kfeeney@bishopchatard.org  or Dan Thompson,  dthompson@bishopchatard.org , if you have further questions about financial assistance.

Tech Counter Hours during e-Learning
The BCHS Tech Counter will be available “in the cloud” from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on school days. Email  gethelp@bishopchatard.org  with school technology questions. This is available for teachers, students and parents. A response will be provided as quickly as possible.

iPad Updates
Parents, our Tech Team is requesting your help. We have iPad or Apps that are out of date and need to be updated. Typically, the Tech Team pushes these updates remotely, however, with so many devices at home it takes considerably longer to get to all of them.

To that end, we ask for your help with the following:
  • Please make sure your child's iPad is up to date with the latest iOS 13.4. To do this, go to
  • Setting > General > Software Updates > Download & Install (If available)

  • Next, make sure all Apps are up to date. To do this, go to the App “Student” -- it's a purple App with a white leaf.
  • There will be an update section on the right side of the screen
  • Once pressed, you should have the option to update individually or all at once.

Thank you for your assistance in keeping our devices updated so that learning may continue!
