Midterm Progress Reports

Midterm progress reports were sent home this afternoon. The midterm provides an important opportunity to review academic progress in each course. Students who have fallen below a 2.0 GPA or who have two or more failing grades may receive a notice requiring their attendance at our SILAS period on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 7:45–8:30 am for the remainder of the first quarter.

The purpose of this support is to help students get back on track academically before the quarter ends. During SILAS, students will have a structured environment to complete work and will be encouraged to seek additional academic support from their teachers.

Parent-Teacher Conferences - Thursday, September 18

Parent-Teacher Conferences take place on Thursday, September 18, from 5:30 to 8:00 pm. Please click here to schedule an in-person or virtual conference with your student's teachers if you would like to discuss an academic concern.

Financial Aid & College Planning Event - Thursday, September 18

INvestEd Indiana will present an informational session on financial aid and college planning on Thursday, September 18, at 6:00 pm at BCHS in the Guyton Theatre.

Important Reminders from the BCHS Nurses' Office

Medication During School Hours

If your son or daughter requires medication during school hours, please complete the appropriate permission form(s) found here and return the form along with the medication in its original packaging to the Nurses’ Office. All medications will be securely stored in the office and made available to students as needed during the school day.

Seniors - Meningococcal Booster Requirement

This is a reminder for students who have not yet received their Meningococcal (MCV4) booster. This vaccination is required for all students entering Grade 12.

• Students who received their first MCV4 dose on or after their 16th birthday only need one dose.
• If your son or daughter still needs the booster, please submit documentation once it has been completed so we can update the registry.
• Proof of this vaccination is often requested during the college housing application process.

PSAT & SAT - Thursday, October 2

All freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will take the PSAT on Thursday, October 2. Students must report to their testing location by 8:35 am in school uniform. Students are asked to arrive early to ensure ample time to get to their testing location. Dismissal will be following the PSAT at approximately 11:15 am. We cannot stress enough the importance of bringing a charged student iPad, as the PSAT is now given electronically. 

Seniors who have signed up for the school day SAT will report to their testing location by 8:35 am in school uniform as well. Testing will be digital and will end at approximately 11:15 am. Seniors NOT taking the SAT on October 2 are welcome to use this day for college visits or to work on applications.

Room assignments and what to bring on test day will be posted on the School Counseling Canvas page. Students will receive an email when room assignments and other important test day information has been posted, as well as reminders in morning announcements. BCHS vs. Cathedral Football Tickets - THIS Friday, September 12

Don't miss the Trojans as they take on Cathedral this Friday, September 12, at Butler University. Everyone (including students) over the age of 3 must have a ticket to attend. Tickets are $14 each and can be purchased here. Parking is $10 and valid for the purple lots shown on this map. Please note that Butler University enforces a clear bag policy for all sporting events.

College Application Help Night - Tuesday, September 23

Seniors and their families are invited to a college application completion workshop on Tuesday, September 23, from 6:00-8:00 pm in the Cafeteria. Bring your questions! Ms. Burkett will be on hand to provide guidance, answer application-related questions, and troubleshoot any issues. Take advantage of this dedicated time to help your student finalize their applications and get them submitted well before the November 1 deadline!

FRESHMAN PARENTS! YOUR CHATARD-A-BRATION GIFT GATHERING PARTY IS THIS SATURDAY!

Chatard-a-Bration Class Gift Gathering Parties are happening NOW, and we’d love to see you there! Each fall, parents from each class host a Gift Gathering Party to support Chatard-a-Bration, Bishop Chatard’s second-largest fundraiser held each February. These parties are a fun and meaningful tradition—bringing parents together to meet new friends, reconnect with old ones, and enjoy a great evening—while giving back to a worthy cause and joining in a little friendly class competition! Save the Date! Chatard-a-Bration - February 21, 2026

As Bishop Chatard’s second-largest fundraiser, Chatard-a-Bration supports the Annual Fund, which provides tuition assistance for more than half of our students and ensures fair compensation for our dedicated teachers. Last year’s Chatard-a-Bration raised an impressive $335,000, and on February 21, 2026, we’re excited to gather for another unforgettable evening—this time with a “Winter Games” theme—complete with live entertainment, fellowship, exceptional auction packages, and outstanding food and drinks! Watch for more information later this fall!

Senior Yearbook Portraits Sessions - October 1, 3, 4, and 8

At your appointment, you’ll also receive information about scheduling a full senior portrait session with Jolene Broad, if you’re interested.

New this fall is our annual Trivia Night, hosted by the Athletic Booster Club and sponsored by Blingle Premier Lighting and Zink Distributing. Join us on Saturday, October 4, at 6:30 pm for a fun evening that supports all of our Trojan athletic programs! You can participate by entering a team, sponsoring a round, and inviting your family, friends, or fellow alumni to join the fun.

Calling all BCHS Dads! Join us for the first Dad’s Day Breakfast of the 2025–2026 school year! Bring your student(s) and enjoy breakfast, fellowship, and an inspiring talk from Dr. Nick Zyromski, a BCHS parent and physician with IU Health Surgical Oncology. Dr. Zyromski will share his spiritual journey and how he and his family strive to live out their Catholic faith amidst the demands of daily life.

Summer Field Studies Informational Meeting - Tuesday, September 30

Parents are invited to attend an information night for juniors or seniors interested in going on the Summer Field Studies trip to Grand Tetons and Colorado in 2026! The meeting will take place Tuesday, September 30, at 7:00 pm in the Kyle Guyton theatre room (Room 102). Contact Ben Reilly with any questions. Both parents and students are invited to attend.

Volunteers Needed - Freshman Grandparent Mass

The Trinity Club is seeking a few amazing volunteers to help with the Freshman Grandparent Mass and reception on Thursday, September 18. This is a wonderful way to meet other parents, give back to BCHS, and share in a special day with our students and their families. Parents of all grade levels are welcome, though it’s an especially meaningful opportunity for freshman parents. Please email the Trinity Club if you are available to help.
